Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

SOURCE: Set Clock Greyed out

I have the same problem - clock set is grayed out. Called Panasonic tech support .. this is the solution I was given. It works, but too bad the root problem can't be fixed (bug ridden unit).
Solution is to "reset" the unit - then go back into the menu system and set the clock. How to reset the unit (don't worry - anything on the HD stays intact):
1) go to DVD mode
2) remove any DVD in player & close tray
3) on front panel, behind door - press & hold BOTH channel up & down keys for 5-10 secdons -- until you see a message that the system is rebooting
4) wait till it reboots, go back in the menu and set the time.

SOURCE: PANASONIC DMR-ES35V have error code U61

From User guide:
U61 • There was a power failure or the AC plug was disconnected while the unit was on. The unit is carrying out its recovery process. This process restores the unit to normal operation. The unit is not broken. Wait until the message disappears.

If fail unplug and hold power button for a minute or two and turn it on and repeat.

SOURCE: How do i unlock my panasonic dmr-ez45vebs to play

You need to buy a service remote to do this on your model, but the official service remote costs more than the player and is not sold to the general public.

Alternatively, you can rent a chipped regular remote control which does the same job.

In the UK you can get them from www.multi-region.co.uk

Note that on your model there is no other way to hack the player, it can only be done using the correct remote control.

The remote chips are available separately but are not easy to fit unless you're an experienced electronics technician; you can buy read-chipped remotes but they typically cost the dame as the original player.

I hope that you have found my reply to be of use and only ask in return that you rate my answer.

SOURCE: Panasonic DMR-EH57 Unlock codes

send it or take it to your local authorised panasonic service center, they can normally do it while you wait. If it is under 12 months old then panasonic will normally pay for this, otherwise a small fee can apply, so if you are unsure on who is your local service, either give panasonic a call or check out there website.

I have a PANASONIC DMR-BWT835GL that splits most recordings into 2 segments (with 3-4 minutes between them) and places them into a folder. I believe it occurred after a software update.

Often times this is caused by a new default setting being used after an update.

A couple possible solutions could include:

Look at the settings you set when you record something. Play around with different ones and nake sure it's not a simple recording option.

See if there's a menu for your DMR that you can alter system settings with. (Most have some form of this in my experience)

Hope I'm some kind of help

Panasonic dmr-ez49veb wont play dvd-r discs

I would suggest contacting Panasonic support. You can search for their website/home page for their contact numbers. Typically, manufacturers maintain help, support, upgrade, forums and FAQs/knowkedge bases to help customers troubleshoot their appliances/equipment. I have used similar methods, previously, to update/upgrade the firmware on an "obsolete" DVR and it has lasted 4 more years (still working).

Hello
Unplug the DMR from AC mains socket, and replug it after 5 minutes. If this does not help you, make a factory reset to this set. Get into the user manual, and there is proceedings how to do the factory reset.

L.S. How to reset Panasonic DMR-EH55 DVD Recorder / HDD Recorder to factory settings?

You can either go into menu (pressing 'FUNCTIONS' button on remote) and look for 'RESTORE DEFAULT SETTINGS' or similar heading, or you can (while unit is on) on the front of the unit (not the remote) press CH UP and CH DOWN buttons together for 5 seconds - the unit will switch to standby. Give either one a try. (refer to page 60 onwards in your user manual - these pages detail 'settings').

If you cannot find your manual, it is available for download (free) - http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/support/Video/DVD-Recorders-Players/DVD-Recorders/Operating-Instructions/model.DMR-EH55S.O#ts

I hope this helps in some small way. Thanks for asking FixYa!

I follow the manual, but when I press EDIT the option to split isnt even there? I am confused, it is SUCH a difficult manual to deciphre, but the only 2 options there are "Edit title name" and "Change Thumbnail".
