Hi, McCulloch chain saws have different mixtures depending on whether you use their brand or generic and is also dependent on the model. The three mixes are 32:1, 40:1 or 50:1. If you are unsure, use the 40:1 and watch the smoke, too much smoke use less mix, but don't run with too little. If you see any coming from the exhaust it is too much and can't burn it all. Good Luck, hope this Fixsya!

When in doubt 40:1 is the always safe mix for any 2 stroke, synthetic oils 50+:1 use there recommendations. Always use the same(premium quality) 2 stroke oil to avoid fuel issues.

SOURCE: chainsaw gas/oil mix ratio
I have two Stihls that are well over 20 years old. I use the factory recommended mixture, 1 part 2 cycle Stihl oil to regular gas. (1:50)
That is still what the factory recommends. Don't use a cheap 2 cycle oil, go to a Stihl store and buy their 2 cycle oil in the orange plastic bottle.

The quick/easy answer: Use Stihl (or comparable) two-stroke engine oil at 40:1. A good name brand gas is less likely to gunk up your engine.
The old manual recommended Castrol SAE 40 mixed at 20:1 with regular gas.
All the modern Stihl chainsaw manuals recommend using 90+ octane unleaded gasoline mixed with Stihl two-stroke engine oil at a 50:1.
Since this is an older saw that runs at a lower RPM than modern saws, you probably don't want to run it quite as lean as 50:1. 40:1 is going to be about the right mix
If you want a printed manual for your chainsaw, you can request one here.
