Question about Sony TAM-100 Digital Answering Machine
When a call comes through, the machine picks up, but the caller never hears the greeting. When we check for messages, we hear the confused caller's comments and "hello?". So, it is recording. I have unplugged and replugged all of the cords and re-recorded the message, but it hasn't helped! I'm afraid my machine is broken, but I wanted to see if there's anything else I can do before I throw it out. Any ideas?
Here is where you can find the manual on your Sony TAM100 phone/answering machine.

Recording Your Announcement
Before using this answering system, you
should record the announcement (up to
one minute long) that callers will hear
when the system answers a call. If you
choose not to record an announcement,
the system answers with a prerecorded
announcement: "Hello. Please leave a
message after the tone."
1 Press and hold annc/skip. The system
beeps. Speak toward the microphone
normally, from about nine inches away.
While you are recording, the Message
Window displays -.
2 To stop recording, release .annc/skip
The system automatically plays back
To review your announcement, press
and release .annc/skip
