SOURCE: KitchenAid oven shut down during self-cleaning

If you are still under warranty, and have "lemon laws"... repaired three times in the warranty period for the same problem... they have to replace the stove. We all need to get Kitchenaid to start replacing these ranges over and over, maybe then they will address the issue. Clean, baby clean... you paid extra for a self clean oven, hold Kitchenaid accountable!

SOURCE: 8 year old kitchenaid gas range nom fire in the oven

I went to the kitchenaid web site for parts and found a trouble shooting section. I read about how a electronic glow coil works and discovered that mine was just old and did not reach the right voltage to open the gas flow valve.

SOURCE: KGRA806PSS00 oven dead after self cleaning

Call KitchenAid/Whirpool and talk to the "Executive Management Team"
I had this fault for the second time and this time spoke to the Exec Management team who said they were unaware of this as a common fault. My stove was ‘fixed’ free of charge – the fuse was replaced, again.
Please everyone who has had or is having this problem call again – this problem needs to be fixed, replacing the fuse each time or not using the self clean function is NOT a fix.

What is wrong with my kitchenaid model KGSA906PWH blank display oven locked

There is a thermal "fuse" (looks like a thermostat) that fails when the back of the unit gets too hot. Most likely this is the cause. Even K.A. will tell you not to use the self clean cycle as it can lead to failures. this is a link to it . . .

GE gas range JGBP33WEH3WW totally dead after self clean

There may be an oven over temp thermal switch that has opened and needs to be replaced. Also you need to determine why the temp got so hot to cause this safety device to do its job. This might be a failed cooling fan

Hello Gene,
On the back of the oven is a thermal fuse that probably went outduring the sefl clean cycle,ya would need to pull the oven out and remove the back panel to test it, That thermal fuse is not resettable and must be replaced,it probably looks something like this 11_15_2011_7_41_32_pm.jpg

Kitchen aid oven blackout after using self clean. Waiting for repair. $100.00 service call. $ 70 part fee. From what I read on the internet this will just happen again. Anyone know of a way to solve this...

this is probably the thermal fuse replacement fix (see my other posts for easy replacement directions)..

i'm sure kitchen aid wont recommend this but if you slip a thin piece of cardboard or non combustable insulation material between your replacement thermal fuse and the oven wall, you may not have the problem again..

good luck
tpug

p.s. i'm trying to source an auto-resetting thermal fuse for this application... if i find one, i'll post knowledge for everyone..

Oven door locked

Your high limit thermal fuse has blown. Pull the range out and unplug it. Pull the back panel off and in the center of the oven you will find the thermal fuse. It will have 2 wires hooked to it on either side. This will be the problem child. If it is bad, it will show a broken circuit or no continuity. Replace this fuse if it reads bad (which it most likely will) and reinstall unit. Make sure to clean the vent in the front to insure that it is free from lint or insulation that would block or slow the airflow into the unit. This air keeps the unit from over heating during self clean.

Model KEDT105V F-2 and F-3 flashing and beeping then turn the oven off? MOlson

Hi

The error code F-2 means that oven temp is too high; you need to :
1. Test operation of door lock on self-clean models
2. Test relay contact operation
3. High resistance in oven temperature sensor
Error F-3 means you need to open oven temperature sensor/thermal fuse and replace oven temperature sensor/thermal fuse.

Please revert for any further assistance and Do rate this solution as "FixYa" if found useful.

Thanks
Rylee

KitchenAid KESK901SSS Oven door wont open after blackout

My kicthenaid oven door locked when a breaker tripped. I live in a sm. town. Some of my friends had to cut through the metal lock, then take the whole thing out the back of the oven along with some kind of spring. Don't try this at home. And make sure the power is turned off. These "Good 'Old Boys" can fix everything - and without the manual. The good news is that you don't have to pay a service man or buy parts. Just don't ever turn on the self-cleaning oven part again. I can get the guy to tell you how he did it.
