SOURCE: PS3 will not display on TV

WHEN YOU START YOUR PS 3, KEEP YOUR FINGER ON THE START BUTTON UNTIL YOU EAR A SECOND BEEP ( BETWEEN 5 & 10 SECONDS); THIS WILL RESET AND SELECT THE RIGHT CONNECTION . I HAD TO FIND THIS PROBLEM WHEN WE WERE SWITCHING FROM THE LIVING ROOM TO MY KID'S ROOM.

LET ME KNOW, HAPPY NEW YEAR.

SOURCE: tv says unsupported format when using hdmi cable

This is a resolution problem with your TV, you tv does not support the format that you sending it. This is when you tv says HELP dude you overloading me.

its a protection fault so you do not blow out the tv. So what do you do here? You conenct the standard cables up change the rewsolution in your consol then try the hdmi again. or turn off the unit then turn it on "holding down the power button until it beeps" and select reset consol to factory defualts. Ether solution works!!! it takes you to try it out,

for my help today all I am asking is you do not forget to rate and leave feedback. You paid ZERO for this support so please do be considerate of that fact. thanks

SOURCE: When I hook my PS3 to my Emerson LC320EM9 B the tv

Something to do with the resolution, just hold the power button on the ps3 for about 10 - 15 seconds. It won't ruin the PS3, it just sets it to it's default settings.

I have a ps3 that i tried to hook up to our emmerson tv through an hdmi cable and the tv screen says format not supportedf why?

If you recently moved the PS3 from one tv to another, it's setup to work on that other tv.
Press and hold the power button on the PS3 until you hear a beep. This should default the video output to whatever is plugged in and the PS3 should output normally via the HDMI connection.

My ps3 is hooked up though HDMI to my emerson lc195emx. but the tv says its an unsupported format. why? is it because the tv only has 720p out put??

Try turning off the power to your console using the power switch in the back (first shut it down properly). Unplug the AV cables (if applicable) and the plug in the HDMI cable. Turn on the system and switch your input on your Television to HDMI. (Keep in mind that there may be a few inputs; HDMI1, HDMI2, etc.) The HDMI connection takes a few seconds so be patient. If that doesn't work, re post or ask to chat.

I just bought a PS3 slim and hooked it up to my 65'' Toshiba DLP TV using a HDMI cable. The problem is i have picture but no sound. I have tried the settings and all seems to be fine, also tried different...

not 100% sure but check the manual for your tv it may be that you need a faster hdmi cable, as with having a larger tv it will work at a faster rate so the basic hdmi cables wont work.

Powered on ps3 with hdmi lead to tv all connections are right was on ps3 yesterday then there was no picture it says unsupported video format on tv but the hdmi lead is the right socket whats happened

It sounds as if the connection has possibly reset itself to a default. Try using the normal RCA connection to start, and if you are able to get a picture, hook up the HDMI cable. You can then simply edit the Video and Sound Connections to accept your HDMI input rather than the RCA input, or you can have it select both, if you have the most recently updated software, and that way, if this ever happens again, you can still have a screen you can see.

Connection error from ps3 to tv.

When you hit the power button from the console, hod it until it beeps at you twice and it will reset the video settings. I read this on a post from gamespot. I hope it works.
