Question about Whirlpool CSP2761 Gas Commercial Dryer

Open Question

Whirlpool CSP2761 Gas Commercial Dryer wont turn off - timer problem?

I bought three new stacked Whirlpool CSP2761 Gas Commercial Dryers. Three of the six dryers work fine except they won't shut off. The supplier said to run them for a while as sometimes they come from the factory with time accumulated on the timer. I ran them for a total of 18 hrs each - no luck! A Whirlpool serviceman told me the accumulator/timer probably isn't good and needs replacing - please verify. PS; the timing wheel and the crash (part that activates the timer when you push the token slide in) are properly in place.

SOURCE: Plug dryer in wall wont start

The most obvious thing to me is that the cord may have been loosened or damaged by the move, or the terminals in the machine may have loosened. Either test the cord on your "new" machine, or replace it with a known "good" cord. Wait a minute....you already have one of those....
Try it, it may be the very thing!

Dryer wont stay hot

Assuming you have removed the lower access panel (two or three scres all the way at the bottom of the lower front panel) to view the glow plug (ignitor), if you see the ignitor cycle on but the gas does not ignite after the machine initially heated in the beginning of the cycle you will want to replace your gas valve coils. They are the round black things mounted to the top of your gas valve.
This should solve your problem.
Good luck to you!!

Whrilpool washer/dryer stack the dryer doesn't get hot

You will find that the drier wont get hot because the timer is not forwarding onto the heating part of the cycle. Possibly if you click one click at a time, you will possibly get to the heating part of the cycle but its not safe as it wont go any further. Install a new timer and you will be happier I'm sure.
