Fan troubles after my distiller reaches the boiling point the fan cycles on and off about every ten seconds. It distills water just fine, but is there something wrong? Do I need a new fan motor or does it have a thermostat that needs replacing?

How do I moisten it so it is not dry

Depending on how much tobacco you want to re-hydrate, get a terra-cotta pot and break it into pieces and soak a piece (or several pieces) in distilled water. Put the soaked chunk(s) in a plastic zip-lock type bag with your tobacco. Leave it overnight and check the tobacco for moistness.

Be sure to use distilled water and a new pot to start. It might be a good idea to boil the terra-cotta in water for ten minutes or so in order to kill bacteria. Using tap water can introduce bacteria and chemicals (chlorine) into your tobacco. You do not want that.

The terra-cotta will prevent soaking your tobacco with too much water and causing mold.

My iron is not releasing steam at all. The motor is going but nothing coming out. It has done this previously but only for a couple if minutes. Will not work at all and only just over a year old.

I suspect that the iron is clogged with mineral deposits. This happens when ordinary tap water is used - more so if your tap water is "hard". First and foremost, buy a gallon of DISTILLED water.

Cleaning it is very much like cleaning an auto drip coffee maker. Empty the iron into the sink. The first method is to pour white vinegar into the reservoir and set the iron to the hottest setting. Tip the iron flat to allow steam to escape. Press any buttons that allow blasts of steam, too. The vinegar will dissolve minerals on the inside of the iron and clogging the holes on the bottom of it. If all holes are cleared after the first time, flush DISTILLED water thru the iron. If not cleared, you can try this second method: Fill it with vinegar again and leave it sitting flat in the sink - unplugged - over night. In the morning, refill with vinegar as needed and try the first method once more. It should be clear at this point. Flush with DISTILLED water.

You can prevent this from happening again by using DISTILLED water only in the iron. There are NO minerals in DISTILLED water, which are left in the iron when water is boiled off inside it.

All of a sudden the amounts of water coming through when brewing have shrunk to about half the amount per cup. We only use bottled water.

Bottled water is rather ambiguous. "Natural spring water" is often rather high in minerals, and often, so is "purified drinking water". I use a CPAP (breathing) machine and I've gotten to learn about water...the hard way. I got some "Great Value" distilled water from Walmart. Of course this may vary by where you live, but the "distilled" water says that the source is the Plymouth, MI municipal water supply (I.e. city water), and it is treated by "micro filtration and reverse osmosis". Ok, the water is exceptionally clean, but it is NOT distilled! The ONLY way you can make distilled water - or distilled spirits or distilled anything - is to boil it until it vaporizes (in the case of water it becomes steam) then to cool, or condense it back into a liquid. In the case of water this is called "steam distilled".

Unless you have used only steam distilled water you may have mineral deposits. I haven't tried it personally, but I understand that a mixture of white vinegar and water will do wonders to clean out nineral deposits, and it may be worth a try. Otherwise you may need to disassemble and clean it.

What is a water distiller?

A water distiller is a device that removes most impurities from water, through distillation. Distillation means boiling the water and then collecting the condensed steam into a clean container.

What is the distillation process?

Distillation is the opposite of the boiling process. In the distillation process the water is boiled causing pure steam to vapor leaving the non-volatile contaminations behind. The steam then cooled until it condenses and resulting distillate drips into a container.

Hang the garments above the steaming water and shut the door so the steam can penetrate the fibers.Keep the steam iron clean and in good working order by getting rid of mineral deposits in steam vents and spray nozzles. Fill the water chamber with a solution of equal parts white distilled vinegar and distilled water. Set it in an upright position and let it steam for about 5 minutes. When the iron is cool, rinse the tank with water, refill and shake water through the vents onto an old cloth. Can I use distilled or purified water as a coolant in a Honda Deauville as there will never be any problems with freezing?

Coolant is not just for freeze protection. It contains additives that lubricate the internal parts of the water pump and it also changes the freezing and boiling points of water. It is still best to use the proper amount of coolant/mix for your engine. You can use distilled/purified water but I wouldn't recommend it.

Nebulizer is not providing mist..checked tubes and cleaned air filter..what could reason be?

There could be some dried fluid inside the tubes or medication chamber. Try cleaning the tubes really well even if they look clean and try cleaning the medication chamber with distilled water (better then tap water because it has been cleaned of all impurities), raise it out with warm distilled water (warm is better then cold to try to dislodge any dried medication), microwave the water to warm it up.
If that does not clean the medication chamber try boiling the medication chamber in a pot for 3 to 5 minutes in distilled water.
PS for the tubes use the warm distilled water.
I hope this helps you out!

How to drain cooling system

Drain the radiator while the coolant is cold. Open the radiator drain plug at the bottom driver side, where bumper meets lower rail, and drain the fluid into a 5-gallon container. If it refuses to open or broke, remove the plastic cover at passenger side and disconnect the lower radiator hose. Do not forget to open the coolant cap, which allows air to enter the radiator core. With all the fluid emptied, refill the radiator tap or with distilled water, leave the cap open, and run the engine until it reaches operating temperature. The goal here is to get the thermostat open, diluting what coolant remains in the engine but the water will start boiling, and burn you out.
Or you can run the engine to get hot but not up to the boiling point. In this case the Flush won't be perfect, but you decrease the danger to burn out. Repeat the drain/refill procedure, until you will get a clear discharge.Repeat the drain and refill procedure two more times with distilled water. The tap water contains chlorine and will corrode the radiator and the cooling system. To fill the radiator, it is recommended to ad 30% volume distilled water to 70% volume concentrated Antifreeze. If you flush the system and rinse with water you must add only 30% water to the antifreeze. There is more water trapped inside the engine compartment, because the thermostat is closed. Make sure to have a coolant density tester. When you finish one of 5 balls must sink, that indicates that you reached 50/50 strength. That means 50% Prestone and 50% Water, which will provide to your car a -34F degree FREEZE-UP Protection , and +265F degree BOILOVER protection. Make sure to open bleeding valve to discharge air pockets from the cooling system. Add coolant. The next day, while engine is cold open the radiator cap, and test the strength of coolant. If it is not quite right, then siphon coolant from the radiator and add antifreeze, or distilled water as necessary. Start the Engine. Untwist the coolant bleeding nipple. If there will be a jet or stream of coolant, that means the water pump is working and is O.K., and there are not air pocket left in the cooling system.
Good Luck.
