Hello,
I have the same symptoms. In my opinion, this is done because you turned your Belkin from a router to access point position. I did it also (issues with adsl modem/router). By manual the flashing diod means no secure device. But, without pass you can't access your Belkin. So, probably, some fault in firmaware.

Nice day.

My modem light is orange. every time i reset it it goes from blue to orange

Hi Christopher s crisp,
Is it blinking Orange or steady?
Blinking amber: The Router can't detect the modem. Either the
modem is off, is not plugged into the Router, or is unresponsive.
It could be the modem.
You can try connecting the modem directly to computer bypassing the router and see if that works.
Check the LED on Modem.
Do you have other computers to test the connection?
Might need to talk to ISP if issue with Modem.

Let me know.
Thanks

Hi, I'm using a Belkin N1 wireless router. I mostly have a stable internet connection, but once in a while the "wireless" icon start blinking orange. What is this? My internet some times get...

if the wireless light is lit up in red it says "someone is trying to connect to your network using wrong password"
Sometimes if any of your devices are not compatible with the security enabled in the router then the light will lit up in red. click here to know more about security types of belkin router
routers has to be turned off atleast 2 hours per day for it to work properly... so better turn off the router when not in use, this will clear the routing table of your router and will make the router to work as a fresh router everyday, so you wont face any speed problems.

A flashing lock light mean on a Belkin wireless router

A blinking security LED shows that the WPS synchronization is in progress.
"WPS" stands for "Wi-Fi Protected Setup", which simplifies and standardizes the process of configuring security on wireless networks.
The idea is to make wireless security simpler for people who are overwhelmed (or don't want to deal) with expressions like WEP, WPA, WPA-2, AES, TKIP.

This is a normal behavior and there is no need to worry.

You can find more details here and on page 54 of your manual.
(If you don't have one, you can download it here.)

If you have any more questions, just come back and leave a comment - I'm happy to help.

Modem router light blinking (no wireless connection) F5D8631-4

Try restoring the Belkin back to the factory default by powering up the Belkin and pressing the RESET button on the back of the Belkin for 7 secs. Then connect a LAN cable from the computer to the Belkin, open IE browser and type the configuration IP address and configure the wireless settings ie. SSID, encryption etc. The computer wireless cards will need to be configured with the Belkin wireless settings to allow them to communicate with the Belkin.

This is a issue with the firmware of your router, which is the software inside the router itself and to correct this problem just do a firmware upgrade with your router and everything should be fine after that.. you can get the firmware from Belkin web site...
