Question about Seagate FreeAgent Computers & Internet
Please, please, please help me... I have spent weeks trying to figure out what's going on. Hours at a time researching, and I haven't slept for days. There just aren't any links to any error beep codes anywhere that fit the description of my problem. My external drive was working perfectly until it fell off my desk. Everything unplugged and when I plugged it back in, it did this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9i5yixsJbk&feature=related The platter spins, nothing is jammed. Is it a circuit board issue? Do I have bad headers? Are there bad sectors? Is there anyway to retrieve the data using a SATA to USB cable when it's running like this? Another YouTube User has the same problem in an internal drive and mentioned that he used "SeaTools" and it passed. I have no way of using this product since the drive is not recognized. It just whirls up, beeps about 11-12 times and then shuts down. My warranty is voided, I don't want a replacement. I just want my files back. I refuse to send it in for data recovery since the files are classified and worth far more than a replaced drive. Before I swing a hammer to it out of utter devastation, I was wondering if someone could give a frustrated girl a hand...?
The only thing I can suggest it to try running the Windows new hardware wizard and see if you can reinstall the drive. Sometimes you can pick up hardware with that wizard.
You could go into computer management which is under the administrative tools menu and see if either of the device driver tag there is a mention of the hard drive there. If you find one that matches your hard drive you can right click on it and delete it. Then you can run the wizard again and see if it will recognise your hard drive.
Have you tried it on another computer?Hope this helpsregards

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: My Seagate Freeagent Goflex 1Tb
Please try one of the following options.
Try different USB ports.
If that didnt work, then try updating/reinstalling your USBdrivers.
Try after these options a reboot first.
Also take a look at this page where some driver problem for your specific harddrive are explained!
I hope this helps you out!
With kind regards,
