Hi Pamela
Common problem
Hold remote upside down while cleaning with a damp cloth and tooth brush. Clean Cracks.... e.g. needle
Keep food and sticky stuff away from remote or any keyboard
that means the head is sticky or the takeup rollers are icky
take it apart . clean all the parts the tape touches with something thats strong but little water .
as for the head very carefull clean it when you get to the actual holes where heads are only use a proper qtip wetted . look it up or youll break them.
on the rubber rollers scrub them . then load the tape an watch it run.
its easy to fix this but you need a nice clean place an some small phillips , take pics of parts/screws if needed
Just take apart the scanner with a small phillips precision screwdriver and clean the pcb board of all corrosion with a dry toothbrush. And it should work like new. Shotgun 420
Yes I can help. You may not have to take it apart. If you buy PURE isopropyl alcohol, not like rubbing alcohol which may be only 70 pure, you can actually dip the whole phone in it and it won't be damaged. Inovagent offers this kind of service if you're near DC. The stuff to get is Iso-HEET from an auto parts store, which is pure. Good luck!
Remove the screws from the camera, than slowly pull apart the camera, remove the buttons and you can take a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol and clean around the buttons.
Here's how. Logitech doesn't cooperate on these issues. Not sure why they're so secretive, but here's the skinny.
Take the four screws out from under the batteries. On each side of the remote there are four spots (or buttons) where you have
to insert a *very thin* screwdriver or blade of some type and push to separate the cases. The first set of buttons are
located on either side of the "Glow" button. The next ones are on
either side of the <- and -> buttons. The next set is on either side of the
"Stop" and "Play" buttons. The last is on either side of
the "Activities" button. Just insert a flat edge and press as you
gently pry the casing apart with your fingers. Take your time and don't force it to open. Hope this helps.
I'm guessing the phone is 8 years old and you spilled something into the keystrip.
Start by unplugging it to see if it resets. Then, look for a mechanical failure (sticky buttons, broken buttons, etc.). Some alcohol and a Q-Tip will clean the buttons, or carefully take the phone apart and wash out the housing.
Last, but not least, any of the new 7730/31/35/36 phones will replace that set.
