Question about HP Photosmart R742 Digital Camera
I haven't been able to find my camera charger for 2 years. Now that I finally have, I'm excited to begin using my beloved camera again!! But when I plug it in, it doesn't do anything, not flash or anything. I tried unplugging it, trying to turn it on, and removing the battery and reinserting it. But it won't turn on!! Do I just need to keep it charging longer since it hasn't been used for so long?
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: Battery issue
I THINK IT TO BE THE PROBLEM OF BATTERY. COZ IF U LEAVE UR BATTERY FOR A LONG TIME WITHOUT CHARGING IT IN REGULAR INTERVALS, THE BATTERY NORMALLY GOES OUT AND DIES. IT MAY BE UR PROBLEM. SO JUST REPLACE A NEW BATTERY AND CHARGE IT AT LEAST FOR 8 HOURS FOR THE FIRST TIME AND THEN ON THE IPAQ. IT MIGHT BRING A SMILE ON UR FACE.
IF THIS SOLUTION SEEMS HELPFUL DONT FORGET RATING IT.

Yes, there is definitely a fault with your camera. You should be able to return it for a replacement. I wouldn't experiment too much with batteries in this camera. batteries discharging this quickly are likely to overheat, causing unmentionable catastrophe.

When you reinstall xp you will not have to reformat the drive. Just reinstall the operating system. As long as you are in safe mode back up what you need to then reinstall xp.
