I had a desk top given to me and now its asking for a pass word how can i buypass

If it's the Windows password, and you have another account on your laptop that has administrator rights, log in into that account and change the password for your account. If you have an administrator account (even if you don't try putting in Administrator and leave password field blank) try using that account to reset the password, otherwise try one of the following:

- see this for XP http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321305
- or this for Vista/Win7 http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/What-to-do-if-you-forget-your-Windows-password
- or if anything else didn't work you can use third party software from Hiren's Boot CD to reset your login password http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download.html

If it's the BIOS password, you can reset it as well. To reset the BIOS password read the information from this link.

How to login in as administrater if forgotten password

what version of windows ?

I assume you are running windows.

There are a few ways to do it.

The easiest is to use the CD/DVD and run a repair installation. Running a repair install doesnt remove your saved data, which is a good thing

The more harder ways entail creating an admin "hack" disk, boot from it and so reset the admin account password. This is risky because you can (in extreme circumstances) corrupt the registry making the windows install unusable, menaing you will need to run a repair anyway.

A good tool to use if you want to use the admin hack can be found at :

I forgot my password

Hi,

If you have windows xp then here are the steps that you need to perform.

1)Turn the computer off and then as soon as you press the power button to turn it on start tapping the F8 key repeatedly.Tapp the key until you get a blak screen that says advance boot menu options.
2)Select Safe mode and then enter
3)When you get the log on screen select administrator and then hit enter.
4)Once ur ont he desktop go to control panel???user account and then select the account that you log on to and click on change password.
5)Enter the new password and then restart the computer
6)Log in using the new password.

If it is windows vista or windows 7 then the only thing that can be done is a recovery that takes the computer back to its original factory settings .

All the best........

Need help guys having trouble with windows xp login/logoff. I've tried everything. tried putting in the xp cd system restore of course I have to press F12 to get to my boot devices. anyways it says no boot...

Are you using the classic login type or the kind where you click on your icon with the name next to it, to login to windows XP? If it's the classic type, Type in "Administrator", (I noticed you may have misspelled as "Administrater" which is not correct), and instead of typing in the admin password, click on Cancel, and this should log you in just fine on Windows XP.

How do i reset my login password

We can not give you information on how to reset passwords. We can not give you serial keys or anything like that.

We cannot verify who you are. Giving you these things is considered hacking and is illegal.

When logging into windows vista, screen says locked. Once I type password in the desk top appears briefly and then goes back to login screen

Boot up your PC then when the bios screen disappears press F8 (to give you menu options like safe mode) one of these options is a vista repair option.....choose that and your pc should boot into windows properly....I believe this is a corrupt winlogon.exe....
