HiDiane
You need to takje it to an Apple store. Some of these macbooks had faulty batteries which Apple has been replacing.
What happens is the battery swells and it is located underneath the track-pad. This swelling prevents the click being depressed.
It's important that you get it checked straight away as these batteries can be dangerous.

It's one of those things. Give it a try. They did have a replacement policy in the first 2 or 3 years where they took the old one and gave you a new one.

Now though, with an older machine, they could say that it is life expired anyway and din't catch fire anyway and it's up to you to buy a new one.

Try their support lines. I6t would appear that in some places older batteries are being replaced (or have been rather) for free and in other places they are not.

You can only try and do a poor helpless girly thing and see what happens.
    best of luck.

Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Mouse clicker buttons not working

In Control Panel there is a mouse section, you may have the clicking disabled. if you don't and it still isn't functioning then you have a bad touchpad and it will need to be replaced.

You can also test using a USB mouse to find out if you have clicking disabled.

Mouse on macbook laptop is stuck

You'll most likely need to take the macbook in to an Apple Store or a Apple authorized service center and have them repair the mouse button. Most likely either some debris or sticky fluid has fouled the clicking mechanism.

I have obtained a second hand wireless Dell Mouse. I hav a macbook laptop and a compaq laptop. Can i use it on any of these?

You can use it on a PC for sure. That keyboard was meant for Dells but it will work on a compaq as well. As far as I know, it won't work with a Macbook but you can hook it up anyway to see if the macbook has built in drivers for it since the dell website doesn't have any drivers for the MAC.

Having trouble with the right clicker is the a easy way to fix it

You can open the mouse and clean it, should sort out the problem. The clicker also might have jumped out of place.

It would probably be cheaper and less hassle to purchase a new mouse.

Left clicker doesn't work on my hp optical mouse

Sorry to say it's most likely a failed switch on the mouse. You will have to replace it. Try a hard-wired mouse first if you can to confirm.
