Question about Mitsubishi VS-45609 TV
His Mitsubishi WS-55909 Projection TV just started to show a double red and green image. I thought it was the cables or the AT&T HD DVR Box but I connected the cable directly to the TV and it still showed the distorted image. Even tried changing the AT&T box. Please advise.
This sounds like a convergence problem. The convergence amplifiers in these projection TV tend to malfunction and cause this problem. Here is a way of dealing with this if you choose to repair this problem yourself.
I posted this earlier but it applies in your case:
The problem is your Convergence Amplifiers, they are usually marked with a STK392-110. You will have to also change out the fusable links connected to the STK392-110s. Desolder the pins and unscrew the ICs and remove both of them. Then desolder the fusable liks and replace them with the new ones, then insert the new ICs and solder them in (being careful not to create solder bridges). Then you will have to perform the convergence on your TV, Try to use Auto-Convergence to do this.
The STK392-110 look like two flat 6 sides rectangular boxes with screw holes on each side and they are attached to a large metal heat sink.
I hope this helps,
