Question about Electrolux Kitchen Ranges

Open Question

I have a electrolux eob5630w oven which started playing up when the cooling fan stayed on after the oven was switched off. After a while it blew the fuse in the plug,so i replaced the fuse and took the top of the oven to find a part burnt out.Looking on the internet i found this part to be the thermos switch for the cooling fan.I bought one and fitted it,but now the oven wont work, the fan or the oven light wont come on,yet the red light at the front comes on so it does have power, would be grateful for any ideas??

SOURCE: electric oven fan

This problem is caused by one of two components, depending on the model, there is a thermal cut in thermostat that keeps the fan running until the unit has cooled down and on some models there is a four wire timing device that keeps the fan running for a specific time after the temperature drops, the fault can only be casued by one of these components. SOURCE: fitting a new control switch for the fan oven (model number 10450G)

Sesspod, 2 things... 1.) Pull the oven out and look on the back of it, there may be an envelope back there containing a technical data sheet which includes a wiring diagram. If not on the back, then possibly under the cook top. It is somewhere on your oven, sometimes the hard part is locating it. If you can find it, look closely and you'll see the wiring color and location is labeled. 2.) If you can't locate the tech data sheet, can you post a good macro picture of the back of your new switch so we can see what you're dealing with.

SOURCE: Oven fan noisy/broken

this noise probably means that the fan is about to stop working, this is what happened to mine. You can easily buy replacement fan off E-bay (it seems easier to find the right fan on e-bay that any of the confusing supplier sites). You then just need to remove the inside oven back and the outside electrical to replace the fan.

SOURCE: Jenn Air Range SVD48600W (Circa 1998?)

ja_question.gif Why are the oven indicator lights flashing? Answer: When power is first supplied to the appliance, a flashing time will appear on the display.
If a flashing time appears at any other time, a power failure has occurred. Press Cancel, and reset the clock if needed.
When the oven is not in use, the display shows the time of day.
If the indicator lights keep flashing after you have tried to reset the controls, then you may need to contact service person.

I have a eob6630 Electrolux cooker. Top element / bottom and work ok. But oven cuts out approx 20 mins when cookin. Then switches off. But comes back on when cools. Approx 20 mins. Can anyone advise about...

From my experience the most common reason for this failure is a thermal switch for cooling fan. It is located on the upper side between the wiring and its function is to switch off the cooling fan when the temperature drops even though the oven is already turned off. If the cooling fan does not work then it will increase the temperature on the cabinet and the main temperature limiter will switch off the oven.

Eob5630w oven shutting down before set temp isreaced aprox 198c also cooling fan not comingon

The reason the oven is shutting down is because it is overheating due to the cooling fan not working, and a safety thermostat is turning the oven off.
You need to repair or replace the exterior cooling fan.

Main oven switches itself off

sounds like cooling fan not working. check the fan and a limpet stat that switches it on. without the cooling fan the oven cabinet overheats and a safety cuts out the oven.safety stat could be faulty if no prob with other stuff.

How do i turn the fan off.

Hello,
If you mean the oven fan that will turn off on control switch.I think you may be talking about the cooling fan. This is to cool the electrical panel on the top front of cooker. It comes on after the oven heats up and may stay running for 15 or 20 minutes after cooker is turned off it will turn off after the unit has cooled down sufficiently for the controller.
Hope I helped.

Good Luck.

Oven heats up then switches off

there is an overheat stat in the oven which turns it off if overheating. the causes are several. 1 - oven thermostat is faulty and oven is reachingf too high a temp. 2 - there is a second fan in the casing to keep the casing cool. 3 - this second fan is turned on by a fan start stat which may be faulty and is not starting the cooling fan 4 - the overheat stat itself is faulty. it is a bit difficult to narrow it down from afar. get back to me if you want
