Question about Mag Innovision M572TVs LCD Television

Screen went black/won't power on

The tv is plugged into a surge protector/power strip with the rest of the A/V equip (DVR, DVD, receiver - all still working). The screen suddenly went black last night and now the set won't power on. I left it unplugged overnight to see if it would reset. It has not. I've tried switching out the power cable and plugging it in to different outlets to no avail. I also tried resetting the surge protector. I tried contacting MAG/Proview customer service but they are not available during the weekends.

Is there any way to reset/reboot this set? It also has monitor capabiliities.

Thanks much,

Thank you very much for the quick response! I'm not sure that I'm comfortable taking the set apart, however. Is there anything I haven't already tried that doesn't require taking it apart?

There is a fuse in the tv on the main board if that fuse blows out the tv could should show this problem. if any heavy voltage electrical current passes through the tv to avoid the major damage on the main board  the fuse is there.so please check out this fuse. if you dont have any major technical knowledge u can call a technician to replace the fuse.as the fuse is not very costly to replace.
thanks.

This is a common problem

The first step is to check the fuse on the power supply board. Next, disconnect the inverter board to eliminate the possibility of it shorting down the main and or power boards. Be careful as the inverter board supplies high voltage to the cold cathode tubes (backlights) and it bites HARD. If you disconnect the inverter and the power led comes up then replace the inverter board. (The screen will appear blank because you have no backlighting). If the power indicator still fails to light you need to suspect the main board first before the powwer supply board. The main board tells the power supply board to come on. You need to check the trigger from the main board to the relays on the power supply board. Also check the power connector to the main board because you should see +12V and/or +5V on at least some of the pins. If no power on the relay triggers then replace logic board. Then replace Power supply board last. Or buy a new monitor!!

What is the difference between a regular power strip and a surge protector?

A power strip is what's used for plugging in multiple appliances to one outlet. A surge protector is different in that it is designed to prevent electrical surges from too many things plugged in, bad weather or lightening. Usually things like air conditioners with heavy motors are plugged into surge protectors.

My dvr/receiver continues to cycle but no picture

hurt_shel,

It sounds like the receiver may need to be replaced. As an option to try before that, please make sure the receiver is plugged directly into a wall outlet by bypassing any surge protectors or power strips. If the problem continues, we can replace the receiver.

You can reach me at thomas.faust@dish.com if you need to get that setup!

DVR won't turn on. TV screen is black

This can be a variety of different things, ensure television is powered on, what color light do you see on the front of your DISH Network 311 receiver? The green light is the one you should be seeing if the receiver is in fact powered on. If the light is not on even after pressing the power button on both the remote & the receiver, then I would recommend checking the source from which the receiver is plugged in, is it plugged directly into a electrical outlet on your wall, or is it plugged into a power strip? If wall outlet, perhaps try a different outlet and see if that makes a difference, if it's plugged into a power strip or surge protector unplug from wall and unplug receiver from strip for 30 seconds and reconnect checking to see if issue has been resolved. While checking these things, I would also recommend double checking to ensure nothing may have become disconnected and that all cables are connected from the back of your receiver to the back of your tv and to the wall and they are hand tight. I hope this helps, if the issue is still not resolved please feel free to contact me directly or you can call our technical support team for further assistance @ 1-800-333-3474. Dead unit

I'm sorry to hear about your DISH Network DVR-625 receiver. If you don't mind me asking & to allow me to further assist you, what exactly do you mean by "dead unit"," For example, was it working and has suddenly stopped working? Does it power on, can you see any lights on the front of your receiver? Is it plugged directly into a electrical outlet on the wall, or is it plugged into a power strip/surge protector? If plugged into a power strip/surge protector, please attempt to bypass by plugging the receiver directly into an electrical outlet- if plugged into an electrical outlet please try a different outlet. I hope these few tips may help but if not and you need further assistance please feel free to contact me @ Kirstie.Filosa@Dishnetwork.com :)

NO VIDEO FIRST THING IN MORN GREEN LIGHT ON/OFF

hi zackmann37! I will be glad to assist you on this issue. 1st lets try to isolate the problem, unplug the power of you dvr receiver from the power strip or surge protector and leave it unplug for 1min. after 1min, plug in directly to the power outlet not on the power strip or surge protector. Why? some of the power strip does not give the 100% current needed by the dvr system thats why its malfunctioning, it gives the 100% power voltage but not the 100% current. then let the dvr reboot by itself once its rebooting you will see attention 015 then it will go on a progress until it download the programming guide and you got you tv shows, observe it until the next morning, leave the dvr plug in directly to the wall, now before you sleep, turn off the receiver by pressing the power buttonon the remote to turn off the green light. once you wake up in the morning, press the power button and the green light and the amber light will turn on and it will show your program, but if the problem still exist, you need to call on 1-800-333-3474 talk to dish tech support and tell them that you need a replacement receiver, you have a dvr lost of function. pls feel free to get in touch if you have any query

My HD VIP 612 Solo DVR keeps freezing every now and then during a show and then manually resetting. This happens maybe once or twice a week. What do I do?

Hi! i will be more than glad to assist you in this concern, lets isolate 1st the problem, if the power of your vip 612 is connected to a power strip, unplug it from the power strip or surge protector for 1minute, then plug in, it will turn on by itself, then you will see, attention 015, let the progress finish and it will download the programming guide, then it will show the picture on the tv. granting the problem didnt exist., it means that the problem is solve, the surge protector or power strip is the one doing it to the receiver, why? sometime the power strip or surge protector does not give the 100% curreny needed by the dvr system, main job of the power strip or surge protector is to protect from power surge thats all but it does not regulate the current needed by the dvr. Lets say it freeze again, this is waht we are going to do, press the menu button on the upper left of the remote, once u see the main menu, press 6,1,1 on the remote and it will go to the point dish screen, selct check switch that is on the uppeer right of the screen, then it will go to the installation summary, select test and it will run a check switch test, it will go on testing up to 1 of 3 or 4 it depends on the sat you have on the lnbf. once its done, it should show the whole installation summary, port1-119-ok, port2-110-ok, port3-129 or 61.5, once you see it, select done and it will go to the point dish, select done and cancel all the way out, it will show you attention 015 and then it will download the programming guide, then you got the picture, observe it if the problem dont exist anymore. if the problem dont exist, then u fix the problem but granting the problem still there, you need to call 1-800-333-3474 call the tech support of dish network and inform them the problem that you are experiencing for the past few weeks and the steps that you did.. this is a dvr lost of function, dvr is bad and it needs to be replace.. if you have any query pls feel free to get in touch

Vip622 rebooting, fan always running on high / No Video

Hi! I am sorry to hear about the frustration that you experience from the tech support of dish network. If you already talk to this guys for 90 minutes do different troubleshooting steps, Did they ask you if your receiver is plug in to a power strip or surge protector? If your receiver is plug in to a surge protector or power strip, please unplug it from the surge protector or power strip for 1minute. then plug in directly to the power outlet. Sometime the power strip or surge protector dont give the 100% current needed by the dvr. just to isolate the problem, connect the dvr to the power outlet and plug in after 1 minute. if the receiver dont boot up it just turn on the green light and turn off by itself. there is a problem from the power supply of the dvr. just in case it turn on and it shows attention 015, press the menu button on the remote and it will show the main menu, press 6,1,1 on the remote and it will go to point dish, once its on point dish, selct check switch, then on the next page selct test, it will run the test up to 1 of 3 or 4 it depends on the condition of the sat dish, once its done, it will show the installation summary screen, it should show the 3 sat or 4 depends on how many you have, ex, 119, 110, 129, or 77, 72, 61.5, once all sat are all ok, selct done, then select done on the point dish and cancel all the way out of the menu and you will see attention 015, it should finish the progress and download the programming guide, and it should show a picture on the tv screen, just in case the problem still exist, call 1-800-333-3474 and ask for a supervisor and explain to the supervisor that you talk to the tech for 90 minutes and also tellthe sup that you did the troubleshooting step that i mention to you but the problem still exist.. the problem is with the dvr, pls feel free to get in touch if you have any query..
