Question about Dell 942 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Dell A940 paper jam switch

I had a bad paper jam awhile back. I had to pull the paper backwards since then I have to reset the paper jam switch. I will print once then show jam. Is it possible I tweaked the jam switch? And does this make sense? I reset the switch then push paper through and here the jam switch trigger.
thanks for any help.

Either the gears of the paper feeder are cracked or misallignewd and needs to be replaced or readjusted or the sensor which detects the paper in the tray is broken. so you r facing this error. please check it out. it will solve your problem. this is a common problem faced by many users and get proper . if you dont have any idea of how to check it out.then call a technician he will do it for u.the cost will be negligible.

My AIO 940 printer does not pull paper properly to print, it does not pull one side of the plain paper and creates a paper jam.

I was having the paper pull to the right. I opened the cover to expose the ink carriages. I found sticky black ink on the platform under the ink. I used a towel and rubbing alcohol to clean off any excess ink. I believe that the sticky ink buildup on the left side did not allow the paper to feed properly. All seems to be well. Hope this helps.

HP deskjet 1280 paper jam

Yes you can manually remove the paper. It can be pulled out from the feed area (pulled out backwards).
To clear the jam status....
Take the back cover off, there is a reset switch in the top left hand lock hole. Push a pen (or similar) into this hole, the switch will give slightly and be the same depth as the others.

put the cover back on, all should be well

Paper feeds to the right and Jams

Sounds to me like there is something in the paper chanel, a staple, paper clip or something small enough to get in there. Have you tried turning the printer upside down and lightly tapping the side to see if anything falls out?

A940 doesn't feed paper correctly

My DELL A940 printer used to jam every time with the paper pulling to the right.
Solution - there was a pen jammed in the mechanism !
I was about to trash the printer when I looked deep into the workings from above, holding the printer to the window to get bright sunlight into it. I could see a round ballpen laying in the groove at the bottom.
Hooked the pen out and all is back to normal.
This may not be your problem, but its worth a look.

remove all paper, open cover and see if you can see stuck paper.....never try to pull out backwards...try to pull out in direction of normal paper travel..if you absolutely have to pull out backwards unplug printer first and be gentle as to not break rollers or gear(s)
