Shutdown Toshiba satellite p/35 s-6091, shuts down while watching streaming video online. Otherwise I can stay online for ever. It has also shut down on me while running my virus scans. No error codes. will start right back up and run with no problems but while I watch my shows online, it shuts down. Black screen and powers off.Sometimes an hour sometimes 10 mins.

That software is way above my knowledge level. The only thing that I learned from it is that my cpu got up o about 41c when it shut down. What is safe operation temp? Would a tray with additional fans do the trick, maybe?

Thank you anyway EIApe. Maybe a more user friendly software, if yoiu know of any.

Problem is with clogged fan ports. Needs to be cleaned by taking apart. Fans can then be cleaned compressed air. You could try a vacuum to **** some of the debris out of the ports but be carefll not to provide too mch suction as it may damage some of the fins. This is a temporary fix as a complete dissassembly must be done. The CPU overheats to to the demands of the video decoding puts on the processor.

Hmm, could be an overheating problem.

Do you have any temperature monitoring software on your laptop you could use to check the cpu temperature while watching streaming video?

If not try downloading and installing this.

Possible causes of the problem:
-
System overheating
- Virus infection
- Power supply malfunctioning

Solutions:

- Check your computer if the fan is properly working.
- Scan your computer for viruses
- Check your computer power supply by a qualified technician
- Reinstall your computer operating system

Try this also:

From the run box you can type shutdown -a and that should stop it from shutting down long enough for you to fix the problem. You need to look up how to remove msblast from your computer.

Toshiba Satellite shuts-down by itself in about 1 minute

Could be hardware or software problems, IF its hardware issue the only problem makes this if the Cpu fan doesnot work, so the Cpu gets hot and then it shutdown in order not to be damaged. but mostly its software issue that remeber if you installed any program before this is happen, and try to stop shutdown by this command, if you did this and this stop shutting down your laptop this is absolutley software problems or programs conflict:
hit Start, then Run , then type this : shutdown -a
this will stop your shutdown if it works, try to uninstall the last programs causes this issue,if it doesnot let you use safe mode command.

Random Shutdown

Toshiba's are notorious dust collectors, try blowing back through the air vents and some clever use of the vacuum cleaner on the intakes can bring it back to life. also check the RAM for dust and dirt on the pins and clean as required. USE ANTI-STATIC Precautions!
