Re: phillips 60'' rear projection
There are only a couple of things that can casuse chirping in that model...1 is the convergence ic's and the other is the flyback. There are others but these are the two most common. Who replaced the convergence chips?
Do you know how to use a meter?
do you know how to soler?

I need to know first if your TV is on standby mode (red LED lit) or not?..If the green light lit your TV your high voltage (HV) is switch but you have open line on heater that cause of no picture and the sounds is chirping because of analog(antenna)/digital connection or bad audio chips..
I need this information above for specific diagnosis and to prevent more damage and failure..Also I need this information to avoid mistakes to buy a parts with no help...
also I need the model # because on my tread there are 2 model # which are correct? is it 60PP9202 60" or 55PP8620?..for specific diagnosis and for possible get a diagram..
Your problem seems to be convergence. This has to do with the video/ audio. If your Tv has no video/ audio and make a chirping sound when you turn on the TV, the problem is within the convergence chips. The symtoms you describes gets to the heart of your tv issue. However your tv can be fixed and it does not have to cost you an arm and one of your legs. If you think you can tackle this repair by doing it yourself then I suggest giving it a go. You can order the kit (audio/video)repair kit/chirping. The cost is reasonable, $68.00. It comes with all the replacement parts and thorugh instructions to guide you through the process. Give it some thought if you think you can fix the tv, if not have a professional do the job. Good Luck.
Without examing the set. IN general as a techs when they hear chirping noise is an indication of what is know as a Bad Flyback transformer; You may possibly have a shorted Horizontal Output Transistor or both that will need replaceing.
two STK392-120 convergence modules that usually cause the beeping. So I
changed them both again, but I also found two open 7.5 ohm resistors
are in the general area of the convergence modules, and I replaced them
as well. I also replace 1 swollen capacitor that was probably going to
blow in the future but not really a problem yet. http://home.earthlink.net/~oleg.filippov/ConvergenceFix.htm http://cmpalmer.blogspot.com/2006/11/fixing-my-own-tv-part-ii.html Sony Convergence http://www.techlore.com/blog/entry/19694/Sony-Convergence-Repair-My-Sony-TV-has-a-distorted-picture-/ http://www.techlore.com/article/19631/Sony-Convergence-Procedure/
