I bought the Nuvi 660 new, it broke, cannot locate satellites, got replacement, it has the same problem. Resets don't help. Warranty is now expired. Neither one lasted a year. Looks like I need a new antennae but where do I find one and how hard is it to replace?

My 660 is not receiving a satellite signal. Software has been updated and unit has been completely reset. Garmin has offered to replace with lower end unit. Any hope for the 660?

Hello,

If you have preformed all the above then the GPS receiver in your unit is probably dead and you should take the replacement from garmin as the 660 is an older unit and probably out of warranty.

Cant get sattelite signal on my gps nuvi 660

try the master reset.

note: that the master reset will erase all your saved data

with the unit off,and unplugged, try pressing and holding your finger on the low right corner of the screen and slide the power switch to the on position until you see the message "confirm if you really want to delete all user data?" hit yes and let it restart. then it will set up the nuvi again, so follow the prompts.

if that fails, hook up the nuvi to the web updater and get the latest update

(actually i would do this either way)

Long periods with no signal - NUVI 660

Try to take it out of the car so that it has a completely unobstructed view of the sky. See if the signal problem is resolved. If that resolves the problem then you will need to find another place to attach it to the insude of the card. If that doesn't resolve the signal problem you will need to return it to the manufacturer. They have a program where they rebuild it for a flat fee regardless of what is wrong with the device.

NUVI 660 ,

Well sir, did you flip up your antenna parallel to earth surface as mentionned into the manual.

Without the antenna you will not be able to get any signal.
