KidiJamz Studio microphone wiring

Need wiring schematic or guide for the 4 microphone solder points correlating with the 4 microphone cable wires (1 black, 1 red, 1 tan/orange(?), 1 ground wire) for the Vtech KidiJamz Studio microphone cable (kids pulled the wire out of the back of the microphone so I can't tell which of the 4 wires went to which of the 4 solder contact points on the IC inside the microphone). Much thanks, -rb

The one I fixed was:
1 = Blue
2= Brown/Tan
3= Shield
4=Red

I had to strip the plastic so that I could install the wire into the holding place with the screw. Then I soldered after the main wire was in place.

No problem! 2=RED 3=Black 1=White The wire without a color is ground. It can be soldered to pin 1 if necessary. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: astatic noise canceling microphone to 4 pin cobra 29 ltd classic

According to the astatic wiring hand book it is not used. I would leave it terminated but long enough that if you find your having noise when you receive you could still ground it. I'm pretty sure you don't need it.

SOURCE: wires in the microphone at the point where you

There are many standards of microphone connectivity with 3 pin XLR (cannon) style plugs. It depends on where in the world you are as to the favoured standard,
Your microphone usesthe following::

Pin
1 ground (white) 2 +ve or hot (red) 3 -ve or return (black)

Another way to work out what wires connect to what, is to remove the cover of one of your XLR-XLR microphone cables exposing the connections it favours, plug the connector into the mics scoket , and use the connections to the cable guide you in resoldering the connections back on.
The same connections can be veiwed in the user manual here

I'm trying to wire a cobra for wire microphone to

If you look at the back of the Dyn plug from left to right the solder points are 1-4-2-5-3 and you will need to know which wire on your Cobra (or any other) is the transmit and receive wires. You can use a impedance/ohm meter to find them. The code for wiring up a generic mic to this radio is 4-Audio,1-Shield,2-N/C,5-Receive, 3-Transmit

Keeps saying turn off message with new batteries

Ours had the same issue. I took the Vtech Kidijamz apart. The power button has its own little board. I unscrewed that. It connects to the next board via two wires. I reflowed the solder for all the connections for those two wires (four solder points total). Issue fixed. FYI: reflowing solder just means heating each solder point (with a soldering iron) until the solder gets soft and then removing the iron to let the solder cool and thus harden.

When soldering the wires back to the prongs where the mic cable is inserted, which prong does the red wire go to and which prong does the blue wire go to?

hi...soldering of wire terminals for your microphone is not that complicated even you switch the wires it would not do any damage at all..as long as the voice coil is good and has reading of 400-550 ohms..it would still works... TIPS: some voice coil even when has a resistance reading and due to long usage may have lower volume even you adjust the amps..if this is your problem better to buy new voice coil...please rate and vote..good day

Recently I dropped my Beta 87A mic and the 2 wires that connect the mic itself came disconnected from the mic. I want to know how to resolder the mic.Thanks in advance. Norbert

I take it they are the wires to the diaphragm not the cable (XLR) connector.Be very carefull when soldering the wires back on. A small solder iron with a pointed tip works best. The positve terminal should be marked with a small red dot.The red wire goes there and the black on the negative. Be carefull and take your time.

Cable break!

1. clear cut off the damaged section,
2..solder or ideally wire-wound the connections,
3. insulate the wires with plastic tape, or plastic sheet,
4. shield the wires with aluminum foils,
5. wrap up the outer.
6. done.

good luck
