It is an Echo SRM-210 serial number 859908. I put a rebuild kit in the carb, then replaced the carb with a new one. The problem is that it will run only a short time then act as if out of gas. To me it sounds like the crankshaft seals are expanding with heat then allowing the gas/oil mix to leak out giving a mixture that is too lean to run. It is almost 5 years old and this showed up towards the end of last season..It is an Echo SRM-210 serial number 859908. I put a rebuild kit in the carb, then replaced the carb with a new one. Good crankshaft/crankcase sealing is necessary in a 2-stroke engine to maintain good crankcase compression. Unfortunately replacing the seals (not much point replacing just one) is usually a major strip-down to remove the crankshaft.
You have to take the timing chain cove to access the sprocket. Use a 3 finger puller to get the sprocket off the crank. Changing the crank seal is way easier if the cover is off the engine
you have to replace front crankshaft seal meaning you have to remove crankshaft pulley.you have to remove timing belt and remove timing belt sprocket and key.
Pulling and replacing a main seal on a crank cannot be done without "fancy" tools. If you go to www.autozone.com and make a free account and then put in the make and model and year, you will be able to access the free online repair guides. Also if there is an autoparts chain near you, you can rent those fancy tools.
Saws that run at high revs without pressing the throttle have an internal air leak ( taking air into the engine via seals or gaskets rather than through the carb ) so you need to check, reolace the crank seals to start with.
YOU NEED TO REMOVE FLYWHEEL REMOVE OIL PAN. REMOVE REAR OIL SEAL HOUSING BOLTS. USING THE PRY POINT LOCATED AT THE EDGE OF THE CRANKSHAFT REAR MAIN SEAL HOUSING SHEAR THE RTV SEALANT. REMOVE THE REAR MAIN OIL SEAL. INSTALL GUIDE PINS INTO THE TWO CRANK SHAFT REAR OIL SEAL HOUSING CORNER BOLT HOLES OF THE ENGINE BLOCK.INSTALL THE CRANKSHAFT REAR SEAL INSTALLING TOOL ONTO THE REAR OF THE CRANKSHAFT FLANGE. APPLY A 0.2 INCH 3MM BEAD OF SILICONE SEALANT TO THE REAR OIL SEAL HOUSING . INSTALL THE REAR HOUSING TO THE ENGINE BLOCK.REMOVE THE GUIDE PINS AND INSTALL THE HOUSING BOLTS TIGHTEN THE BOLTS TO 89 INCH LBS. REMOVE THE REAR SEAL INSTALLATION TOOL FROM THE CRANKSHAFT FLANGE.THEN INSTALL OIL PAN AND FLYWHEEL.
Well sometimes.... the front crankshaft seal is usually called a crank seal, or the front timing cover seal but the rear crank seal is (usually) called the Rear Main crank seal. In order to replace the rear seal , the transmission will need to be removed. If its the front, then the harmonic balancer will be removed. $380 sounds cheap. As you will need a oil seal, oil pan gasket, oil, filter, labor and tax. Maybe even a lower engine mount.
remove front crossmember remove sump remove crank pulley prise cone from end of crank remove key from crank carefully prise out seal runner checkthis for wear and replace if worn pull seal from timing case lips reasemble lubricating new seal tip lock crankshaft piece of wood to ease loosening and tightening pulley bolt
hi!replace the crankshaft oil seal.most of nissan's vehicles use timing chain so just remove the drive blets and the crankshaft pulley.use a screw driver to remove the old oil seal. install a new one.guaranteed the leak will stop.
