I get a logon screen that says
"The system could not log you on. Make sure the username and password are correct, then type your password again. Letters in passwords must be typed in the correct case."

I know the name and password but it wont accept anything anymore

First thing I'd try is to log on as the local administrator:
username: administrator
password: (empty)

If that doesn't work and you really can't log in AT ALL, you can reset the administrator password . Download Pete Nordahl's Boot-CD (here), burn it to a CD and boot your computer with the CD in the drive (Depending on the PC you might have to tap the F2 or F12 key when booting to get to the boot menu, where you can set it to boot from CD.)
On XP, do NOT change the administrator's password, just reset it (to empty)
Don't forget to "write to disk" at the end of the process.
Remove the CD when done, reboot and log in as "administrator".

Let me know if this works for you or if you need more details.
And read the FAQ (link)!

To delete user profiles do NOT just delete their folders in C:\Documents and Settings.
Go to Control Panel -> System (or use the keyboard "Win+Break" combination.
    Go to the "Advanced" tab.
    Go to User Profiles/Settings.
Deleting users from here deletes all their profiles including their Document folders.

SOURCE: cant remember my pc owner password

ok so what you do is,turn of the pc and turn on, while your pc is starting up when the screen is black and has the flashing bar keep pressing F8 until it askes you if you want it to start up in safe mode, say yes. then when it gets to the log in screen it should say "administrator as one of your users click on it it should not have a password. then you need to go to the start menu>run...>type in "cmd">you should come up with a black box. now type in these exact words "net users", press enter. now type in "net user "put the name of the user you want here WITH the apostrophes" * (make sure to put the star there!) it should ask you to type a ew password for this user, now type what ever you want as the password, press enter. DONT FORGET IT!!! now close the box and restart you computer and use that password you put to log on to the user!!! hope this helps!!! =P

I bought a used sylvania 7" and a I do not know

If its the user password you may be in luck

try to start up in safe mode depending on the operating system that you are running

it could be F8 on statup or F5 on startup

hopefully this will take you to a box with options
go to safemode with networking
and try to sign in as administrator
if the option is there
then wait until you are on the desktop
go to start
settings/control panel
then click something like change user account
go into the previous users account and delete the password

hope there is admin account as well as the previous owners account

good luck

I cannot log on, i cannot remember password

If you can not remember the password, try logging into another user account with Admin rights and change the password for your account of there is another admin account in the computer.

Other option, as computers will have a default admin account, try booting to computer to safe mode, generally the account is not password protected until the user decides to assign a password.

Finally, if nothing works, you may use third party applications to boot into the Computer( e.g. Nopix).

Otherwise, use a OS disc and format the computer reinstall the OS.

Hi let me which operating system you are using. if its xp only thing you can try is try logging to safe mode. then go to control panel and you can see your username and you can change the password there.

If its vista you can go to advanced boot options by pressing F8 during system setup or when u see the dell logo. select repair your computer, try login with your previous user name and let me know otherwise we can do other steps if its vista. if its xp and then trying the safe mode does not work then you will have to reinstall windows.

thank you

Log in as administrator, it usally does not have a password on it.

Then go to users and remove the password. Log in as that user and change the password to what you want.

If there is a password on the administator, then write back and we will go from there.

Network problem

Be sure that you only enter the password admin - in small letters. The user name shuld be left blank (empty space).

This should work UNLESS you (or someonhe else) previously changed the password. Is this a brand new unit? If someone changed the password, you'll have to use the new password.
