It took several refreshes before I could enter the Microsoft site. This was not helpful to my problem. However, after shutting down and rebooting several times and going into the start menu and then computer so that I could safely remove several usb's the icon came back on its own inside the small arrow in the notification area. Therefore I can not really make any recommendation to the effectiveness of the fix. But thank you so much for your assistance.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: i have compaq presario cq60-104tu

setting it up will be a simple case of popping in the windows 7 installation disc and following the prompts. While installing windows 7 vista will be deleted if you choose that option.

My safe to remove icon has dissappeared how can re install it please

Which operating system ?????????

The system tray in Windows XP is the right side of the small blue bar at the bottom of the screen that houses the clock and a few other small icons. You can add icons to the system tray for ease of access, including the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon, which allows you to easily remove hardware from your computer.

Turn on the Windows XP computer and right-click the taskbar. Select "Properties" from the menu that appears. Check "Hide Inactive Icons", then select "Customize" A new window appears with all of the icons currently on the system tray, along with icons also for some programs that don't appear on the tray. Click next to the icon "Safely Remove Hardware," then check the box "Always Show". Click "Apply". Safely Remove Hardware Icon?

Blue screen of death

Remove all USB attached devices like drives. You may need to roll back system with System Restore. Under Safe Mode (press F8 during boot and choose Safe Mode). Win 7 - Start > Search type System Restore. XP - Is Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Restore. Now choose a date prior to problem. You may have to try a few dates. Uninstall last program(s) that was installed, again in safe mode. To eliminate possible bad RAM. Unplug PC, open case, and remove all RAM. Test one DIMM at time, one slot at a time. Re-install Windows. Clean install works best, but all data will be lost. Lastly you may have other hardware problems. If it does another blue screen after reloading windows, especially with a clean install.

Odd GUI Problems

I recommend Ubuntu it's smart fast and the virus won't run on it! you could install it in a second partition on the hard drive (minimum space is 4 GB recommended is 8 G) or you can run it "live" using the CD. If you install it in a separate partition you can still use the computer and access your files from windows! I recommend you try it and install "clamtk" from Synaptic Package Manager. It is a virus scanner that detects Windows AND Linux viruses! It's also FREE! Who knows, you might just like Ubuntu too!
