Hi,

If you have a dell computer, you can restore your computer back to factory settings using CTRL+F11. You need to restart the computer and when you see the Dell logo. Press CTRL+F11. You will see the message "PC RESTORE"

You may reinstall your operating system using the cd if your system doesn't have the capability to restore settings to factory. You may call you computer manufacturer about it.

Keep me posted.

Thanks.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I want to restore the pc to factroy settings but i dont have a disk

1.Restart the computer.

2.Press the "F8" key after the computer reboots but before the "Windows" logo appears on the screen. You should now see the "Advanced Boot" menu.

3.Scroll down through the menu options using the down arrow key. Stop when "Repair Your Computer" is highlighted and hit the "Enter" key.

4.Select the language you wish to use and press the "Enter" key.

5.Type in the computer's administrator ID and password. Press the "Enter" key.

6.Scroll through the options using the down arrow key. Choose "Restore (name of computer manufacturer) Settings." Press the "Enter" key.

7.Choose "Yes" when asked if you want to reformat the hard drive.

8.Press the "Enter" key to begin the reformatting process. The process takes a few minutes, so be patient. Do not turn off the computer or attempt to stop the process after it has begun, or this may result in major damage to the hard drive.

9.Choose "Finish" and press the "Enter" key to restart the computer. The computer will restart with the original factory settings.

I just got a refurbished laptop from tigerdirect and i cant start up the computer. I can get to the log in screen but it seems there a preset password and log in info. Is there anyway to by pass so I can...

There is but your best bet is to contact tiger direct or the manufacturer of the machine. there might be a simply restore utility. It sounds like you have an open box computer. This is where someone opened the box tried it out and returned it. Refurbished is there was an issue and it was repaired. In bothe cases all major manufactures add software to reset the computer just like it came from the factroy. This is what you should do.

Thanks PJ Please rate my servcies and anything then completely staisifed is not good enough for me. tell me how  Ican fully help you.

Restore factory settings for a acer aspire 5315 laptop

acer dont have a restore, you are prompted when you first boot it up when purchased to make a back up set of discs, i assume you didn't, you will need to lend somebodies XP or Vista Disc , but use your own product code on the underside of your notebook to reformat and reinstall windows.

A spy sweeper kept popping up and i finally clicked install and then my desktop and taskbar disappeared! my right click wont work and i am unable to shut my computer down

If it was a pop up NOT FORM THE WEB or while you WERE NOT online then you could be fine and a simple restore form the factory disks that only replaces the OS without a format / erase should put things back in order.
If it was a popup form the web you have most likely inadvertently installed a virus.
Perform a hard power down [unplug it] and restore from the factroy DVD/cd's making sure to perform a full format/erase to be sure the virus is gone.
That is the easiest way to get rid of a virus. SOrry but any data you may have will be LOST. and anything you dont have backed up will be gone forever.
2 lessions, dont click to install anything from popups and make backups of anything you find to be important to you because if its not a virus someday it could be something else like a hard drive failure.
Good Luck

I need to put my laptop back to factory settings please

I agree with tom and enquiry. You'll have to see identify your laptop's model and manufacturer.

If the laptop came with recovery disks, it is best to use them. But if you're using Windows XP or later and can still access it, then you might also want to consider System Restore (Start > [All] Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore)
