Question about Dell Inspiron 1000 Notebook

No Internet My laptop has developed a problem where it will not connect to IE7 either wireless or hard wired. I tried System Restore and it will not restore to any earlier point.

    I have my desktop connected to the same router and it is connecting. I checked the Device manager and it has no yellow or red markings. I have "pinged" several sites (Yahoo, Google, and Bellsouthnet) and the tests were successful. The modem also is clear but when running a test with the Bellsout Fast Access DSL Help Center software that came with my modem, it shows no modem detected. I'm lost!

    IE7 is buggy..and is interleaved with the install thinks..

You may try checking the network driver of your computer.

1. click start --- right click "My computer / Computer".

2. click Manager then look for device manager.

3. under device manager on the left column. Look for your network adapter if it has a yellow question mark or a red x mark.

Red X - disabled.(right click then select enable)
yellow mark - driver is not installed/corrutped (you need to install the driver online or from the cd that came with the computer)

4. Restart

Now, if the issue still the same. Try a different computer and check if you can connect to the internet. If the issue still the same. Call you Internet service provider to check on the connection.

    That's not a problem. Restart your computer. When your computer is restarting and you see the logo. keep on tapping (pressing it on/off) F8 until you see the message "boot advance option". select the option.. safe mode with networking. When you are already in safe mode.. you will see a prompt message. just click yes. then try to check the internet.

    when you are connected, login to this website.

Can't get wireless to work on laptop

You may use the System restore utility on windows by going to all programs then Accessories... Open system Tools and then System Restore. You may resotre your system to an earlier time, time when you are still able to connect to your router wirelessly.

How do I uninstall IE8 I want to go back to IE7, because of the Youtube Adobe flahs player problem. the IE8 keeps saying Javascript is turned off, despite me trying severeal times to install the flash...

first goto the control panel to uninstall the IE8,
then click on the add/remove program then find the windows internet explorer 8 uninstall it by clicking the remove button.
after uninstalling the IE8 restart the system
then check the wether the internet explorer come the 6 version or 7, if it is 6 install the IE7

Network and internet connection problems

Please run system restore to factory setting. Restart the system and hold down F11 button till you hear a beep.

That will return the system to its factory position. It will definately resolve your aches about connecting.

I can access RR browser with firefox but not with IE7. When running in safe mode, all browsers connect properly. Does anyone know what I can reset to make IE function?

Try this:
- Go to Internet Options.
- Under General tab >> Click Delete Browsing history
and select Delete All.
- then Click on Advance tab and select Restore Advanced setting and Apply it

In additional:
- Try to disable the Phishing filter on IE7

You can try to do a System Restore on windows. This usually solves wireless connectivity problems. Just choose a restore point on a time where it was still working. Click on the link below for step by step instructions on using System Restore.

Run a system restore. You may need to go back two or three restore points before it fixes the problem, but the restore should do the trick. Try this, let me know, and if the problem persists, then we'll try a different approach.

Hotspot connection problems

well you can't have IE6 and IE7 installed on the same computer at the same time, so I am guessing you are using 2 separate computers. More then likely it is a program with the internet settings of your computer rather then IE7.

try this app on the system with connectivity issues

just run it and click fix, this will flush all your internet settings and fixes about 85% of connectivity problems

if that doesn't work try reinstalling your wireless adapter, by removing the drive then reinstalling it.

if you are still having issues try scanning your system for spyware and adware

while IE7 handles web pages and scripts differently it still uses the same HTTP protocol that IE6 does, therefore there is no reason it wouldn't work when IE6 does.

Also in the future please post your Operating system to help diagnose the problem better.

No connectivity after changing locations

try to go to safe mode by tapping F8 after the dell screen at startup, check if system can get a is evident that your dad can connect to the internet because he can access and download his emails. Try to reset IE7 by clicking tools on IE7, then go to internet options, go to advanced tab, click reset button. If still if still could not connect, uninstall then reinstall anti virus sw.
