Keep getting error message "Zone 1, sensor 1, failure" and also get "Panic" calls once a day. Replaced batteries, reprogrammed. No help!

Skylink has two lines of DIY security system, SC-100/SC-1000 and AM-100/ML-100. The remotes for the two systems, such as keychain remote or keypad remote, are interchangeable but the sensors are not 100% compatible. If the wrong sensor is used, it may still be possible to program into the system but it may operate abnormally.

From the description of the symptom, it is likely that wrong sensors are used in the AM-100 system. Check the accessories model number whether it is for SC or AM/ML system. Otherwise, make sure that only accessories from the original factory package are used.

For door/window sensor, the SC model is bulky and consists of one sensor body and two magnet pieces. The AM/ML model has one piece of magnet built into the sensor body. The other sensors are similar in appearance for SC and AM/ML model but the AM/ML sensors have the "AAA+" marking.

Cannot clear zone, how to factory reset SC-100 skylink

There is no factory reset for the zones. User must follow instructions in the manual to clear all the devices in a zone.

Search the manual for "ADVANCED PROGRAMMING". Then look for "TO CLEAR A ZONE". Follow the instructions to clear a zone. Note that zones 1, 2, 3, and 4 are for sensors and zone 5 is for remotes. Each zone can accommodate a maximum of six devices.

Each command can erase one zone. If more than one zone is to be erased, repeat the command for each zone.

Alarm not beeping when doors are open. led on door goes red when door is opened and alarm box has red and green lights when alarm is actived but not chimes or alarm when doors are opened

When a zone has both red and green lights on, it means that it is in delay mode. That means when the sensor is triggered, the system will wait for a predefined time interval (30 seconds) for user to reset the trigger. During this time interval, the system will not beep or alarm. But after that, if user does not reset the trigger, system will go off.

User can reset the trigger from keypad or by remote.

How do i set my simon 3 motion detector?

You have to put the motion in sensor group 17. You will see this list near the back of the thick installation manual that came with your Simon. Also, when installing the motion, when it asks you to trip the button on the sensor, all you have to do is take the back off of the motion. You will hear a beep. Replace the back, and continue!
