Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

What is my washer's capacity?

I'm shopping for a new washer and want to compare to my existing machine. I have a Kenmore 110.92580100 purchased in 1994.
Can you tell me what the capacity/size is of my washer now, so I can shop for one of equal size? Thank you.

Able to find a spec sheet on your specific washer, but i can tell you that you have a whirlpool made kenmore washer. and at 18 yrs ago they have only gotten larger, youd be hard pressed (unles you bought a apt sized machine or a laundry center) to get a smaller capacity machine. new machines are huge in comparison to the oldies

Kenmore 90 series heavy duty super capacity plus quiet pak washing machine leaks a small amount water from the bottom front of washer when running a wash cycle.

If your TOP LOADING Whirlpool manufactured washer (Kenmore) is leaking, the following link explains how to remove the exterior washer case in order to accurately inspect the washer interior components for the source of your leak:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3576648-washer_leak__top_loader

If the leak is more like a constant drip, a common source of leaks with Whirlpool manufactured top loaders is a leaking drain pump. These pumps are not serviceable and if damaged, must be replaced. The following link explains how:

Don't forget to check all drain hose connections under the washer and the center tub seal.

Kenmore 417 44042400 Front Load machine Sears says does not exist

YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT. THE COMPANY SHOULD HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THIS. HERE IS MY SOLUTION: GO TO LOWE'S HARDWARE AND BUY A WASHER AND DRYER THERE. BUY THE GE BRAND. 3 YEARS AGO, WHEN OUR MAYTAG WASHER DIED, WE BOUGHT A NEW GE WASHER BEFORE MY FATHER DIED IN 2006. BUT CHECK INTO THAT. MY E MAIL ADRESS IS CoolRod41@yahoo.com IF YOU FIND THIS IMFO HELPFUL. GOOD LUCK.

Are you happy with the Kenmore 800 4.0 cu.ft. top load washer?

For large capacity, a front loader would be your best bet. An HE2 by Kenmore should be sufficient. If a toploader is overloaded, it's more likely to do damage. Also a Whirlpool Duet would work. Whirlpool makes Kenmore, so shop for the best price, (they are the same inside)

The top part of agitator dose not move every much. Washer is Kenmore Heavy Duty Serial# CF3225915

It may be time to do a little agitator maintenance. Purchase yourself a set of agitator dogs (yes, they do exist) and replace them. The following link explains how:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r823955-replacing_agitator_dogs

When you take the agitator apart, inspect and clean it as well. You can purchase dogs at searspartdirect.com or repairclinic.com. Do some comparative shopping for the best price. The average cost is less than $10. I hope this helps you. Let me know if you require additional assistance.
