1) Laptop OFF, monitor OFF.
Connect an external VGA monitor, to the VGA connector, on the Left side of the laptop.

Example of a VGA Cable, and a VGA port. (Connector),

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VGA_connector

The external VGA monitor can be a CRT (Looks like a small TV), or a flat LCD screen with a VGA cable attached.

2) Turn the monitor on. If a CRT type allow it to warm up.
Turn the laptop on.

By default the display should be on the external VGA monitor.
If not;

A) Press, and hold down on the Fn key.
B) While holding the Fn key tap once on the F3 key

(The F3 key is the Display Toggle-Over key)

Still no?
There are at least three display options.
1) Internal monitor of laptop ONLY
2) Internal monitor of laptop AND external VGA monitor
3) External VGA monitor ONLY

You may have to hold the Fn key down again, and tap again on the F3 key.

A) External VGA monitor shows a good display.
Problem is the Video Cable, or in the Display Assembly

B) External VGA display shows same display as laptop.

Remove all ram memory modules ('Stick') and clean the gold plated contact pins.

1) ALL power removed from the laptop. Remove the AC adapter (Charger) and Battery.

Lay a soft Static free cloth, on the table you are working on.
Prevents scratching the table, and the laptop.
Turn the laptop over, lay it upside down on the soft cloth, Battery Compartment AWAY from you.

Remove the Back Cover.
Large rectangular cover on the bottom of the laptop. Has a smaller rectangle on the top/right.

There are 7 Philips head screws to loosen. (They are not supposed to come all the way out )

Back Cover is my term. It connects to the Bottom Case.
Lenovo's term is HDD / Memory / CPU / Mini PCI ExpressCard slot compartment cover.

When you look at at the internals of the laptop now, you see the
HarDDrive, Ram Memory, Processor, and Mini PCI ExpressCard.

The most sensitive to Static Shock, hardware computer components, are now exposed.

It is for this reason, that you should ensure your body is Static free.

[ Your body carries Static electricity. Static WILL fry out (Short Circuit) the delicate hardware components inside a computer. Especially a Processor ]

It would be best to purchase an ESD wrist strap, and connect it's alligator clip to a good ground source.
{ Electro Static Discharge }

Average cost in the US is around $3 to $6.
Barring that this is not feasible, if you have a desktop computer on the table also, touch an unpainted surface of the metal frame.

Or at least place a large metallic object on the table, touch it before, and occasionally during, working on the laptop.
Perhaps a large metal serving tray, or large metal knickknack. (Unpainted )

Handle the ram memory module by the Body. The Body is everywhere on the module but the contact pins.
The Body is coated with a see-through protective plastic,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:1GB_DDR2_SO-DIMM.png

In the basic example of a SO-DIMM ram memory module above, observe;

1) The Locating Notch at the bottom. In-between the gold plated contact pins, and off to one side.

This Locating Notch aligns with a Locating Lug, in the bottom of the ram memory slot.
It can ONLY be installed in one direction.

2) The Side Locating Notch/es
One on each side. The spring clips of the laptop's ram memory slot, have a 'Bump' that fits into these half-moon shaped notches.

When the ram memory module is fully seated properly, the spring clip 'bumps' will be in these notches.

To remove a ram memory module, ease the Top of the spring clip out. Away from the ram memory module. Use CARE as if they are steel, they can be bent. If they are plastic they will break.

As both 'bumps' come out of the Side Locating Notches, the ram memory module will 'pop up' a little bit.
OBSERVE this angle.

The ram memory module NEEDS to be removed at an angle, just a little more up, than this.

DO NOT stand a ram memory module straight up when removing. You will bend the contact pins of the module, and the contact pins in the ram memory slot.

3) The gold plated contact pins on the bottom.

Hold the ram memory module by the Body, on the Static free soft cloth.
Use a pencil eraser to clean everyone of those gold plated contact pins.

If a pencil eraser on the end of a pencil, and not a solid eraser, refrain from letting the metal band contact the contact pins.

Rub up, and down on each contact pin. Both sides.
Doesn't take much to clean them, and you will be done in no time.

Use air to remove the eraser dust. If you use a can of compressed air for computers, also use it to dust out the ram memory slots, and the rest of the inside of the computer.

(Attach the plastic straw provided to the Nozzle. Break the plastic lock tab off of the Nozzle. Do Not let the plastic straw touch any components inside the laptop.

If you tilt the can while using it some of the propellant will come out.
This is inevitable. Happens.
Allow the inside of the laptop to dry out, before reinstalling the Back Cover, and hooking up power )

If a can of compressed air for computers is not available, air pressure from your mouth will be sufficient.

Reinstall the ram memory module/s.
Reinstall the Back Cover.
Attach the Battery.
Plug the AC adapter into the laptop, THEN plug the AC adapter into power.

WAIT 1 minute, turn the laptop on.
Still the same?

If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LEDflashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faultyinverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Please click on this link and follow myinstructions to identify the fault and possible fix :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3598095-faulty_laptop_lcd_screen

Hi,

This may cause by an electrical charge in the motherboard itself,Im not really sure how it affects the display of the computer. There's also a possibility that the problem is with the LCD cable or the LCD itself. Please follow this method since it usually fix such problem like that,

1.Removed the battery then unplugged the AC adapter

2.Press and hold the power button or the ON/OFF button for at least 30 seconds

3.Connect the power supply back to your computer then turn it back on.

4. Check if you will see any difference.

5. If nothing happens, try to press and hold Fn and F2 on the keyboard.

If nothing happens, there is a possibility that the problem is with the LCD or monitor itself, maybe you will need to replaced it.

I hope this information will be helpful. Thank you for using FixYa...

Lenovo g560 starts and work very slow

There are so many reasons can cause a Lenovo G560 computer running slow than it used to, it is hard to identify just what might be dragging down your Lenovo's performance, let alone implement the necessary technical adjustments to fix it.

If you want to address the issues more easily, I'll recommend you try a Lenovo speed up software, available here: http://www.speeduplenovo.com/
