SHUTTLE DOESN'T WANT TO OPEN

I'VE GOT SONY DSC-W5.WHEN TURNING ON THE SCREEN IN BACK, THE SHUTTLE DOESN'T WANT TO OPEN, ALL MODES ARE DEAD EXCEPT 'PLAYBACK MODE', I CAN SE MY PREVIOUS PHOTOS.MY CAMERA JUST WASNT USED FOR 2 WEEKS AND SUDDENLY SUCH PROBLEMS STARTED.WHAT'S WRONG?????

To reset turn off the camera and remove the battery. Hold down the power button for 15 seconds then release. Reinsert the battery pack and power on the camera.

Sony DSC-W5 camera and the LCD screen is blank (white)

Remove the Battery pack from the Camera then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.

Next, reinsert the Battery pack in the Camera and try to turn it ON. Make sure that the Battery pack is fully charged. If the LCD remains white then the LCD screen needs to be serviced or replaced.

How to set auto timer in sony dsc w5

using the contol button on the back in still picture mode
press this upwards until the circle with a dot apears at the top of the screen. this will mean you are in auto timer mode.

MY mode-selection switch glitches

I have a Sony DSC W100 and had a similar problem. On one of these post there was a solution which worked for me. It stated to reset the camera and on the Sony if it is a reset button, it was located inside the battery/memory card slot. It is located to the left of the memory slot a little gray dot.

very good poss that camera needs mode dial switch assembly.Especially if unit was subject to liquids near the mode dial .part # 147966811 for silver and 147966821 for black model..First reset camera by pushing reset switch should be around batt compartment and or memory stick area.

control button is stuck on sony cyber-shot DSC-W5 digital camera no matter which arrow i click on control dial, it does not allow any movement. i also cannot delete, as delete button does not depress. I can take a picture, however. Also, when I turn the camera on, it always displays the time and date set frame. any suggestions? i'm afraid i just have to walk it in to a tech repair!

1. do not type in capitals - it is as good as shouting. Your camera has a faulty CCD.Tell Sony about it- it is a known problem
