This error indicates that your video card resolution is set igher than the monitor can display. Try booting into safemode and changing the resolution.

Here is a link to the Gateway site spec page for that monitor.

http://support.gateway.com/s/MONITOR/7003943/700394318.shtml

The maximum resolution it will display is 1024 X 768 which is very low for current video cards, your card may not go that low. Check it if it does not go then you will need to get a new monitor that supports the resolution that your computer can put out.

Monitor only works at start up. then I must use optional monitor. occasionaly monitor will work for a short time

You may need to change the resolution on the screen, in windows, you may find the "Display Options" under "Control Panel", usually this problems is caused by the computer having a hight resolution than the supported by the monitor, for your specific monitor the available resolutions are:
Support of video modes up to 1280 x 1024 at a 75 Hz refresh rate from the manual at:
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00264775.pdf
That means you have to chose a resolution lower than 1280 x 1024 and a frequency lower than 75 Hz. Anything higher than that on the resolution or frequency will cause the monitor to display a "Out of Sync" message and turn off shortly thereafter.
Thanks !!!

Input Not Support

This means, that your operating system is not set to the recommended resolution of your monitor. Your monitor has a "fixed" resolution where the image will look best. You can change the solution in Windows XP if you right-click on a free space of your desktop, then choose "Properties". In the new window, that comes up, select the rightmost tab. There you can use the slider to adjust your resolution. Just try some different resolutions until the message disappears. If you use Windows Vista oder Windows 7 you can access the resolution windows by right-cliking on your desktop and selecting "Screen resolution".

I have upto now been using my LG Flatron L1919S monitor as a tv with a separate tuner. today i replaced it with an LCD tv and was going to use the monitor for my computer. however when i connected it up...

It means your PC video output resolution is too high for the LG monitor to display (your old monitor (CRT) can handle higher resolution than this LG LCD monitor), you need to set the PC video resolution to native resolutionof this monitor which is 1280 x 1024 @60Hz. You may have to use the old monitor (CRT) to set the resolution to 1280 x 1024@60Hz, then hook up the LCD monitor.

My iLo moniter keeps telling me that my signal is out of range, i don't know what this means or how to fix it?

It means that the screen resolution and/or refresh frequency that have been set in your computer's display properies are beyond this monitor's capabilities.
You don't specify your system type or exact monitor model, but you have to:
1) Find out the optimum (native) resolution of your monitor
2) Go to Display Properties and set that resolution. Obviously you will have to make the monitor show something in order to do it - if we're talking Windows, you'll have to boot to Safe Mode.

Fluctution in samsung monitor

Hi,

I'm going to take a shot in the dark here and say that by fluctuating you mean it's flashing and whatnot. This can be caused by the lamp dying.

As for the lines on the screen, those are probably dead pixels, which can happen to monitors.

Unfortunately, it isn't exactly cheap to fix a monitor, and you might be better off buying one.

To be on the safe side, try taking it somewhere like Best Buy to confirm what I've said.

Hope this helped :)

In the middle of my screen a blue box is showing and in it this reads OUT OF RANGE H. FREQUENCY 68.7 KHz V. FREQUENCY 85.0Hz What does this mean and how can I fix it this was a gift...

That message appears when the Windoze display settings exceed the monitor capabilities. If you will boot into windoze safe mode (F8 at boot) and correct the display settings, the message should clear at the next boot. Afterwards you can right click on the desktop and access the display settings to make final adjustments.

In your case, the refresh rate (V Frequency) should not exceed 70 Hz

Monitor flickers and faint bands scroll down the

could be fixed by ajdusting the refresh rate....

you could try this (xp pro sp2)

please rate if useful, good luck

Open Display in Control Panel.
On the Settings tab, click Advanced.
On the Monitor tab, in the Refresh Frequency list, click a new refresh rate.

To open Display, click Start, click Control Panel, click Appearance and Themes, and then click Display.
  • The default refresh frequency setting is 100 Hertz, although your monitor may support a higher setting. Check your manufacturer's documentation for information regarding the settings your monitor supports.
  • A higher refresh frequency reduces any flicker on your screen, but choosing a setting that is too high for your monitor can make your display unusable and cause damage to your hardware.
  • Changes to the refresh frequency affect all users that log on to the computer.

Relisys Monitor model TL528A - Plug it in, screen is blank panel light is yellow. push ON button and I get a 5 second message stating: OUT OF RANGE HS: 53.5 KHz VS: 84.8 HZ WORK RANGE ...

It normally means that you have connected the monitor to a computer whose resolution and frequency are beyond the range that this monitor are capable of.

To fix this, you can do one of two things: reconnect the old monitor and reduce the resolution to 800 by 600, which every monitor can handle and then reconnect the new monitor and change the resolution settings again. by default, Windows will restrict you to only settings that the monitor can handle. The second option would be to start your computer in safe mode (F8, just before you get the windows screen during boot). and change you monitor settings that way, rebooting afterwards.

Tiny Monitor

Out of frequency means your video card is trying to display a resolution beyond the capability of you monitor. Typically it is really a combination of too high a resolution and too many colors. Typically a 19? CRT will be set to display at a screen resolution of 1024 x 1024 with the color quality at 32 bit or *true* color. Personal preferences differ and you can set it lower or higher, depending on the capabilities of the monitor. Let us know if you have any other questions and please don?t forget to rate this post.
