Question about Compaq Presario 1900XL163 PC Notebook
Hi everybody, I just bought a laptop from eBay. I knew before hand that the laptop had issues. I am hoping to repair it; howvever, I'm not sure where to start. The laptop is a Compaq Presario 1900-xl163. When I power it on, I hear the hard drive spin up, but I have no video. I have also noticed that I have no fan movement either. I have tried sticking a boot disk in the floppy drive and the cd drive. I still get the same problem. I have also removed the expansion memory and attempted to power up the unit. Still no luck. Has anyone seen this type of problem before? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Dont know if this is your prob but I worked on one about 2 years ago that had that same prob...turns our that something got spilled in it and it fried the mob and cpu...like I said maynot be the same as yours as thats hard to fig out...check on a mob and see if thats the prob if you have a spar cpu of that type(provied that it can be changed) then try that...
