Question about Sharp 56DR650 56" Rear Projection HDTV
Our Sharp DLP TV is about 2 years old. Plays fine for about 10-20min. then Colors flash and a clicking noise comes from the back of the set. After it stops the colors are all washed out-looks like a tie-died Tshirt with splothes of clouds in the background. Is there any way to repair this? It doesn't seem to be a bulb problem(no warning errors)-any help is appreciated!
Looks like it's a color wheel problem-found a cleaning walkthru online, but it doesn't get rid of the loud hum form the CW motor. Also, it is thermal related-when the colors went out I placed a fan next to the color wheel and everything went back to normal. Several design flaws here and for $3000 these companies should do better-severe problems after a couple years is not acceptable.
