SOURCE: Samsung LNT3253H is making a high-pitched noise

I had the same issue. The tech that came out today removed the transformer on the power supply board, "resealed" it, and replaced it (re-soldered the same part back on) -- the transformer apparently vibrates because it was not properly sealed. BTW, mine was about the fifteenth that he has performed this repair on within the past couple of months -- all 32" and 26" Samsungs. Now, it appears to be absolutely silent.

Sorry for the delay in response. Electrically, there should be no potential hazard since there would be no more "juice" running through the circuitry.

Our Ceiling fan is making noises when it's on.

hey Amy, Some brands of ceiling fans are notorious for being noisy,, What type of noise is the most important (or to be concerned about)... a clanking, binging, any high pitched repetitive sounds can usually be traced to an off-balanced" fan with something inside moving.. Now, if the sound is a constant, grinding, rubbing type sound, it needs to be investigated.. ceiling fans are not complicated.. its just an electric motor that drives 4 or 5 blades.... and has a light switch. If its grinding, the bearings are probably going bad.. They are not hard to replace if you have mechanical aptitude.. Go to the manufacturer's website.. they should have a trouble shooting guide,, check it out,, and also have a place for you to order parts..

Fan only wobbles on high....recently 'bumped'

Check all your screws especially the set screw at top of fan that goes into rod. Blades could be warped from the water. Ball of fan not set in bracket correctly. When your buying a fan, look for blade pitch.13 degree or better is best. You shouldn't have to use the fan on high unless it's a low-end fan with a low blade pitch. It's costing you more money to run the fan on high. Sorry to get so preachy, I'm a fan dealer .

This fan isn't even worth fixing! When you're buying a fan, look for blade pitch or CFM's. Don't buy anything under a 12 degree blade pitch. 14 degree pitch would be better. Remember, you get what you pay for!

Check that all the blades are aligned when the fan spins. If one blade is higher or lower than the others it throws the fan out of balance and makes a clicking noise. Also check that the pitch on all the blades is the same, this has the same effect. The blades can usually be bent just a bit to correct any misalignment.

My laptop makes a high pitched noise

The high pitched noise you hear is most likely caused by the CPU cooling fan on your laptop. If you suspect that this high pitched sound is caused by the fan going out, you can spray your laptop with compressed air to get the dust off of the fan.
This solution will make your laptop work at a cooler temperature, and reduce the noise.

If the problem persists, seek a certified laptop repair specialist.

New Broan fan rattles

I would take it back for exchange...
($159... is high end pricy... Amazon = $168 (worse)).

Old ... tired fans can dry out... gather dust.

Their life can be significantly extended with
fresh lube... As for me...
I've learned to just find & buy a NEW MOTOR.

But a new FAN... Outrageous!

Take it back
