SOURCE: how to replace forward and reverse switch

If you are mechanically inclined you should have no problems but if not this is involved. First I would recommend going to the Makitatools.com website and on the right side type in your model number and look at a breakdown for this unit. To start with you have to remove the chuck, then the collar with the 2 springs under it and then remove all screws from the housing separating it carefully so none of the parts jump out. The switch is polarity sensitive so make sure of the wiring. If you still want to tackle this let me know and I will go into more detail on this. Good luck

SOURCE: Problem taking batteries out of older Makita drill

there is a clamp on the bottom that has to be unlatched and the battery should just pull out of the bottom, unless it is stuck by corrosion and then you might have to "TAP" gently to remove. You can download a breakdown of this tool at makitausa.com to see what I am talking about.

What is the procedure for removing the chuck from a makita 6095D 9.6v drill?

Most chucks use a tapered shank that allows you to remove it with a good tap on the bottom. Other chucks have slots in the slots in the shaft that allows you to tao it off with a wedge type key. You could always use a dent puller and chusk on the screw.

Good luck, Jack

Can't get the keyless chuck off cordless Makita 6095D drill.

If this is a newer tool it is probably a Torx drive screw usually a T20. The screw is LH thread and after removing it you will need to put some screws back in tool to remove the chuck. First shift the gear selector to the low setting and the clutch to the drill only. Next get a bent handle allen wrench about the capacity of the chuck install the short end of wrench in chuck and tighten. Put the chuck on a block or wood or a workbench to support is and turn the wrench to about a 30 degree angle in the counterclockwise position. The chuck has standard threads so you want to hit the wrench with a hammer to loosen it. This might take a few tries but it will work. Good luck
