no this problem is new. i can barely make out the picture, so i don't think it's a matter of brightness or sharpness. any other ideas?

  • wisco5 Oct 26, 2008

i know i said panasonic, but it's actually polaroid...my mistake. polaroid flm 3732. do you think is with the actual tv or with the cable box? thanks for your help.

actually i think i figured it out. went to menu-setup-default, and everything seems ok right now. it used to go back and forth, but hopefully this works for good. thanks for your help!

Low brightness

replace back light - it is a flourescent bulb which gets darker as it gets used ( like all flourescent bulbs do - they start getting black on ends and get dimmer as they are being used)

We have sound and you can see the sound bar on screen but no picture

Open the back of the TV. Then turn it on. You should be able to see white light indicating the flourescent lamps are on. Don't touch anything tho because there are high voltages there. If the flourescent light dont come on then it is the board that powers it. If the white lights are on at the back then it is the main picture board. I may add though that the power supply that powers the flourescent lamp has higher failure rate.

Everytime i turn on my lcd tv it turns on and the pictur goes off

there are flourescent tubes inside that can be replaced, they help to alluminate the screen. There are these other boards inside that can malfunction too, best to take the unit to a technician.

Horizontal lines and color problems?

this could be a format issue. When you change the channel do the lines go away ? If so try to go into the cable box (assuming you have a cable box) and reset your formats and exclude the format causing the lines.Make sure if your using component cables all colors match up.If this does not fix it replace your component cables/hdmi.All else fails unplug your TV wait 5 min. and plug it back in. Hope this works for you.

Polaroid LCD has Flourescent Lights and a Blurry Screen

okay I just got mine to work. All I did was: click menu on my remote control, go to setup, go to the very bottom where it says "Default" and press ok on the remote. Everything went back to the default settings and worked.

If the audio still doesnt work, go to menu, audio tab, down to MTS system and hit right or left on the remote to change the audio setup.
