You have to make sure that the laptop could provide the required resolution of the monitor, because of the laptop could only give1280 x 1024 and the monitor is requiring 1600 x 1024, then expect that you will get that result.
Try changing the resolution of the laptop. Set it to 1024 x 768.
Have a good day!

Go into your BIOS and change the date there and the save changes and exit. Hopefully on the reboot when you get into windows the dtae will read prroperly If it does then turn off the laptop and then turn it back on and see if the date is still reading properly. If it does then you know it was a BIOS issue.
If the date still doesn't read properly then you know that the BIOS battery is weak and not holding memory and so the battery would need to be replaced.

SOURCE: Hi, i got acer aspire 4930
not knowing what operating system your are running i cannot navagate you there so go to control panel power options and hopefully you will see how to tell your computer when to sleep when to turn off hard drive and monitor etc so click on the when to sleep button and extend the time to what you think you may need and you can do the same for the hard drive because i think they are normally set to cut off after half and hour by default
hope this helps
have a good Christmas
