sounds strange but ...
1 - check the mouse settings
2 - or ... turn-off the touchpad (under "touchpad settings")
3 - check/reset "keyboard settings"
see if you can narrow this down, with some detective work.

i think you have problem with driver software . better try by re-installing it again, else take to service center , because screens are the most complecated part

SOURCE: how do i reset a eee pc 901
To reset my 901 XP, I remove the battery as shown on page 3-3 of the instruction manual.
The reset button can now be accessed: it is a small shiny metal
plate, about 3mm by 15 mm located on the left of the battery compartment (closest to the LAN port).
Press the metal plate once with a ballpoint.
