Question about Ricoh Printers & Copiers
SOURCE: Jam A - strange sound
Hi Aleks, This is a known issue on certain AcuLaser C4100 for which Epson have released a countermeasure. The problem is related to a value in the printer firmware and only realy affects the machine when it is first switched on or has sat idle for a long time whilst powered on. The fix requires a software tool to interogate the firmware and check a value. If this value is set to a certain figure it requires changing. The same software can change the value to rectify the issue. You can get the info to fix the printer from: http://www.tradebit.com/filedetail.php/1594428

toner density sensor is located in the developer unit. either the sensor is not reading cause something is covering it or it has poped so it can not reference any longer.

We have over 50 of these printers and a few have had the magenta bleeding problem. On everyone of them the problem was corrected by going to the clean developer function under Maintenence from the Menu and choosing to clean the magenta color. Usually have to run it a couple times but it has always corrected the problem so far.

OK, same problem, I've gotten through the solution. I can print and have the first page and last page on one side of the large sheet and the two inside pages on the other side, so that is foldable into a booklet.
I start with a 4 page (US letter sized) document I wish to print as a booklet on tabloid paper.
In the (page layout or editing program's) print dialogue, I've said print all pages, set it at 1 page per sheet, then clicked the printer properties button to open the Xerox Workcenter 7345PS option dialogue.
In the Xerox dialog on the "Paper/Output" tab, selected the larger (Tabloid, 11x17" in my case) paper size, selected 2-Sided Print. Then I select the "Layout/Watermark" tab and clicked the Booklet Layout radio button, chose "Landscape" for the Page Layout Option. Note: I saved these settings as "Tabloid Booklet" by clicking the down-arrow to the right of "Driver Defaults" so that I could select them and not have to dial in every one of the settings whilst experimenting.

Enter on the computer the follow path:
1. enter start menu
2. enter printers and faxes
3. enter by right click into properties
4. enter paper size settings
5. set the paper size for the tray or trays and press update then apply and ok
after thet it will work
Also see on the printer menu enter the same paper tray settings and set the trays by size but more important is to set the compute settings
