Wireless Router Hi I have a Blitzz NeWave Base 2 Wireless Router. I lost my installation software when I moved locations. i have tried to install them with the driver off of you guys website and my computer doesnt recognize a .bin file after I unzip it... Is there any way or where I can get the installation software or get that driver to work with my computer. It is plugged in through a cable modem and it will recognize it but it will not let my computer connect to the internet even if I wire it from the router to the computer through the ethernet port. I found the drivers and never could get it to install right. I seen on this site that if you held the reset button down on the back for 60 seconds it would reset the router, but your computer has to be plugged into while you do it. I did and that fixed my problem.

Don't have manual or cd

This will show you how to get into the router. Even though these are the steps for port fowarding. You should still be able to set up your router with these instructions:

Lost Install Disk

You don't need the install disk to use the router. If you plug in the router and press the reset button on the back of the router, the you should be able to connect to the network using only the windows wireless program.

Need to set a password for my blitzz wireless router

Hi,
If you type www.routerlogin.com into the internet url bar, it'll ask you for the password for your router.. Just leave it blank and you can access the router settings menu and change your password in there. Write it down! Also, if you want you can enable WEP or WPA encryption protection for your wifi connection in there too, and it will prompt you to confirm the password.. Write it down!
exit from the browser and it is done.
Hope this helps

Wireless router

The bin file is a firmware for the router and not a driver. That's why your computer couldn't recognize it. What you can try initially is rest the router first. Look for rest button at the back of the router. Hold it down for about 20 seconds then unplug the power for 30 seconds. Unplug the power to the cable modem as well. Wait for 1 minute. Make sure the modem is connected to the Internet/WAN port of the router and your PC is connected to port 1 on the router. Power on the modem first, wait for the lights to go solid. When they are all solid, plug the power to the router, wait for the lights to stop blinking. Check now if you can go online.

If all fails, you need to do a MAC Cloning. Consult the manual on how to do it. Hope that helps!

Blitzz is out of business. There are a couple driver sites out there (driverguide.com) who may have software and/or documentation to help you.

Drivers for newave Base II Blitzz BWA611B modem.

Routers don't come with driver discs. I know they come with a disc, but those don't have drivers. The router is a computer, a very dumb computer, but it is a computer. The router only needs to preform a few simple tasks.

The disc has software and guides to help the novice user connect to the router to preform setup and other network administration. You don't need the disc. I have never needed the disc, waste of time. You only need a web browser, which all computers come with.

The 3 things you need to connect to the router is the "default gateway", the login user name, and login password.

There should be a manual that came with the router, which will state that information. If not, it on the disc. Now, you did not state which router you are using, so how do you expect anyone to help you.

If it is a linksys router, the default gateway should be "192.168.1.1"
The default user name and password on a linksys router is "admin", use it for both.

If "192.168.1.1" is not the default gateway, then you need to use ipconfig to find the correct one.

here are the steps for XP:
Click "Start" then "All Programs" then "Accessories" then "Command Prompt"

In the command prompt window:
now type "ipconfig /all" and press enter.
look for "default gateway", that is the ip address of the router.

Never type the double quotes, what is between the double quotes is what you will type.
