Start with the simple fix first. Is the unit powered by a wall transformer or an ac line cord. When I have these problems I always start with the wall converter. Maybe it's dead. Substitute another converter of same or lower voltage. Does the unit power or at least light up? Bingo, Swap converters. Don't assume the converter is working. Ac line cord? Swap it out. Fuse on the unit? Check or replace it Final idiot fix - plug a test light into your ac outlet. Be sure it's live. I spent an hour frantically tracing power trouble on a PA set-up, only to discover ONE outlet in a duplex was bad. Now I check with a power test light first. ***************

How to hook up a 7 band pioneer equalizer great 470 to a Kenwood kr-v6030 receiver

Connecting an Equalizer to a Receiver Before beginning, purchase RCA cables. In order to run the signal from a stereo receiver to the graphic equalizer and then on to the amplifier, two sets of RCA cables are needed. These are basic cables used to connect auxiliary components like record players and CD players. The length of the RCA cables should be about the same length as the distance between the receiver and equalizer.

1. Connect Graphic the Equalizer to the Receiver

The first step in this setup is to connect the graphic equalizer (EQ) to the receiver. Most receivers will have preamp-in and preamp-out connections. Some have tape monitor connections. It's preferable to connect the EQ to the preamp-in or preamp-out because the tape monitor won't allow for connection to the amplifier as well.

2. Connect the RCA Cables

The first set of RCA cables should connect the receiver and equalizer. Connect one pair to the preamp output channels and the other end to the left and right input channels on the EQ. These are on the back side of the equalizer. Usually, the colors will correspond to the RCA plugs. That means connect the red plug to the red jack and the white plug to the white jack. Then connect the second pair of RCA cables between the receiver and the amp. Match the colors in the same way.

3. Connect the Amp to the Receiver

Now the amp can be connected to the receiver via RCA cables in the amp inputs on the receiver. This will create a loop from the receiver through the EQ and amp and back to the receiver so that all three units are connected.

4. Test Graphic Equalizer

Turn on the receiver, amp and equalizer. Once they are powered up, try controlling the sound with the equalizer knobs. They should fine tune the music according to your preferences. It's easy to change the frequency response or tone of the music with the equalizer knobs.

I need help downloading a equalizer for my computer Lenovo think centre/win 7 pro /64 bit can't get anything to work when I try

There are built in equalizers on certain players.
KMPlayer and VLCplayer both have equalizer functions and are free players.
If you use Windows Media player, here is a link to show you how to open and adjust the on board graphic equalizer.
Change bass stereo and other audio effects in Windows Media Player Windows...

Now, if you want a stand alone equalizer you will simply need to Google "Graphic Equalizer program for Win 7" and you will get PLENTY of results of free EQ's. Most of them are rated. I grabbed a couple to play with them, but as of this post, I have not yet.

On the rear panel there are two jack socket marked: Left and Right Insert.
These are connected to the graphic equalizer using two insert cables, one for each channel ( L & R). The cables have a stereo 6.35mm jack plug which plugs into the mixer, the cable splits into two mono jack plugs marked tip (or send) and ring (or return). The send (tip) connects to the input of the graphic equalizer and the return (ring) connects to the output of the graphic equalizer. How it works: The stereo jack interrupts the signal in the mixer and sends it to the equalizer, the equalizer processes the signal then sends it back to the mixer. Typical cable is shown below. If the equalizer has a different type of socket, phono for example you will need jack to phono adapters or insert cables with suitable plugs. Hope this helps.

Purchased an alpine 3011 graphic equalizer that has no wiring diagram...cannot hook it up without knowing what wires do what

You are going to need the DIN plugs for the unit, on the back there are two imput jacks. The left jack is for the imput from your head unit, as far as I know, there is no other way for the EQ to accept imput except for the jack. The right one is for a digital time delay unit (rare). Coming out of the unit there are two output jacks, one is line out front, the other is line out rear. With these, there are also your power, ground, remote power, and speaker out puts. Good luck. I had one of these back in the 80's.

I have a Technics Stereo graphic equalizer. Trying to find out why it's not getting any power. it has no fuse inside. I hook the plug into the outlet and nothing. atleast the light on the equalizer does...

The power supply unit has failed in your equaliser. If it is the main transformer check for the continuity of the primary and if open you will need to replace with the same one or rewind with the same parameter. However if the thermal fuse is blown you can short the winding with a fuse wire. Also check on the dc side for any fusible resistors that would have opened out. Hope you check this out. Good day
