Start with the simple fix first. Is the unit powered by a wall transformer or an ac line cord. When I have these problems I always start with the wall converter. Maybe it's dead. Substitute another converter of same or lower voltage. Does the unit power or at least light up? Bingo, Swap converters. Don't assume the converter is working. Ac line cord? Swap it out. Fuse on the unit? Check or replace it Final idiot fix - plug a test light into your ac outlet. Be sure it's live. I spent an hour frantically tracing power trouble on a PA set-up, only to discover ONE outlet in a duplex was bad. Now I check with a power test light first. ***************

Good day to all,can i ask some help about my automatic voltage regulator 1500Watts using a servo type transformer to identify the wiring connection in the primary?,,thank you!

If the transformer is still in the mixer you should be able to trace out the primary by using an ohm meter or continuity tester. connect the meter to one side of the power connector and probe the leads on the transformer til you get a hit mark that wire and continue until you get another hit and that is the other primary.

What is the purpose of a graphic equalizer?

A graphic equalizer is designed to allow the user to tailor the music to his or her personal hearing. Obviously not everyone hears frequencies the same. As you get older or are exposed to loud noises you lose sensitivity to certain frequencies. To compensate for that you can boost or cut the fequencies being played through your system. Originally the graphic equalizer was designed to make corrections to bad recordings and deficiencies in the recording medium of the time. Now they are used more to compensate for hearing deficiencies. To understand how an equalizer works you need to understand that ideally the normal person can hear about 20 khz of audio when they are young and have perfect hearing. Probably more realistically they can hear 20 hz to 15 khz. Enter the equalizer. All sounds are heard differently according to the intensity of the frequency. If your hearing is bad, say down 10db at 10khz, with an equalizer you could boost 10khz by 10db and make up for it. An equalizer contains filters which breaks the audio spectrum into bands. Could be 3, 6, 10, 15, 20 or more. The more bands the more the equalizer costs but the more corrective power you have. We have equalizers with 64 bands. . The numbers on the sliders are the frequencies your equalizer can boost or cut. Keep in mind that they are the center frequency and will effect frequencies on either side for about a 10db range. So you can cut/boost frequencies at 50hz (very low), 200hz (low but still bass), 800hz (low to mid range), 3.2khz (range of speech), and 12.8khz (high frequency). The best way to observe how your equalizer works would be to play something and adjust one control at a time to see what it does. You will notice a difference. Then it basically becomes a project to adjust the unit to the way that you like to hear your music. You like bass, boost the low frequencies. Like the highs, boost them. Give it a try.

Graphic equalizer how to connect for my turntable to work with it

There should be the connections from the turntable connected to the input of the equalizer then the output of the equalizer to an amp
Some turntables require a preamp so refer to your turntable manual.
(Some equalizers act as a preamp) You wont hurt it by trying it.

I have a Technics Stereo graphic equalizer. Trying to find out why it's not getting any power. it has no fuse inside. I hook the plug into the outlet and nothing. atleast the light on the equalizer does...

The power supply unit has failed in your equaliser. If it is the main transformer check for the continuity of the primary and if open you will need to replace with the same one or rewind with the same parameter. However if the thermal fuse is blown you can short the winding with a fuse wire. Also check on the dc side for any fusible resistors that would have opened out. Hope you check this out. Good day

How do i connect graphic equalizer to reciever

A graphic Equalizer (GE) is acomprehensive tone controller which enables cut and boost over wide range of frequencies a Klark Technik DN27 was a mon unit and had 27 bands) And a DN22 was stereo with 11 bands /ch

They are called as named because when viewed from a distance they look like a graph of the sound.

Normally a GE is inserted into the signal chain between the pre amp outputs and the power amp inputs.

So look on your equipment for these rca /jacks. (pre out) (amp in)

It is possible to do the in /out fubctions on one connector (stereo jacks) so look for jacks marked insert point.

This will be a very suitable place for the GE connection.

Hopw this helps. thanks for using Fixya
