To disable the echo, the simplest method is just cut the jumper wire from the power supply section to the switch.

To bypass a faulty echo board, connect a sheilded jumper from pin of IC1 to the Voice position of the the connector/R63 at J6 . Isolate the echo board completely by removing one side of R39 and R68

SOURCE: How to install echo board in a Galaxy 2547

  • The DX2547 is the same as a Galaxy 959 - a SSB/AM CB radio. The standard of echo boards is the TRB-X2. This installs the same way in most CB radios. I have uploaded an instruction sheet here http://minus.com/lbkZJ6ZfR6qbEY Very easy to follow. If you happen to have any further questions please feel free to ask.

  • Hope this helps..

SOURCE: How to install echo board in a Galaxy 2517

  • This radio already has an echo board installed in it from the factory. On the bottom set of knobs, left side, over three knobs. That knob is your echo/delay knob. No need to install one. Just turn it on.

  • Hope this helps.

My radio squeals with echo when my amps on

adjust your talkback to just open then set your echo to where you want it. Now turn your amp on and re-adjust both the talkback and the echo . If you have a speaker nearby the radio may be feeding back through it so move it away from your radio . Now start talking with the mic and adjust your echo because you should be able to hear yourself talk through your talkback.

I was wondering if it was possible to install a lt-2d echo board into a galaxy saturn base station to replace the factory echo?where i,m lost at is it says to unhook the audio wire on the mike socket but...

Don't mess around inside a CB unless you are skilled in electronics. Modules in a CB don't switch out like a computer, everything is soldered in. The echo board manufacturer should have a compatibility list at their web site. Factors to consider its size, can it use existing wires, do the voltages match? You might consider contacting tech sellers on ebay selling similar items or similar radios. The easy fix is to buy a mike that also has a built in echo feature.

How do I adjust echo on galaxy saturn base?

Inside of the cabinette there is a small pc board located on the right side of the chasis. It sits vertically and has a metal cover on it. There are 2 potentiometers on the board. One is for depth of echo and the other is for speed)

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

On a MOSFET version of a Galaxy DX2517 and assuming stock mic, heat related issues of missing modulation would require initial checks of:
  • echo circuit - board EB-2000 EPT0SSB51J;
  • mic amp - IC7 NJM4558D;
  • AF power amp - Q53 to Q55.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

RF limited TBR-2 turbo echo board. It will plug in to the factory wires with no alterations. It will give you much more control.
