Question about Brother HL 1440 Laser Printer

My Brother HL 1440 laser printer works but keeps turning off

My printer will work if I print to it after turning it on, but the printer keeps turning off and windows thinks its "offline" i have to set it to "online" everytime after i turn the printer on. it is currently my default printer. I tried to find the power control options in the settings and found none. the manual can be found here. www.brother.com/pub/printer1400doc/ZLe_UG_eng.pdf

I frequently have the some problem. I find that if I power on the printer and then turn it bock on, the printer will print what is in the print que.

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Take the toner off.
  • Shake the toner for 4-5 times.
  • Install it back.
  • Then try to print.

Brother hl 1440 paper jam


clean the paper feed tires with some alcahol. they are located in the upper part of the machine when you pull out the paper tray. they are gray in color. if that does not work the feed tires may need replaced.
