Dark screen

When I turn on my camera the lcd screen appears dark, although I can still see pictures and things on the screen, they are barely visible. This happened randomly when I turned my camera on a few days ago. I have tried adjusting brightness but nothing changes the screen remains dark...what should I do? :(
i've recently seen one of your notes on giving advice which i have the same problem to. my camera screen appears dark, even when i'm in a room at day time. so i try to put the flash on and the image still remains dark, it's barely visable. i've fixed all the settings to their normal ones, i've even reset my whole camera and nothing is making a difference on my vivitar vivicam 5010. i want my camera fixed in four days, so please please get back to me monymartha@hotmail.com, Martha xxx
