Question about Dell V305w All-In-One InkJet Printer
My Dell V305w All-In-One InkJet Printer is printing shadows behind my black text only; color is perfect.
Try re-installing the black cartridges.
Also check them for possible clogging.

I did the following and it has stopped printing "shadows". I don't know if it was one solution or the other (or both) that worked.
1.On the face of the printer press the "Menu" button>Admin Menu>Maintrnance>Color Reg Adj>
2. "Menu" button>Admin Menu>Maintrnance>Clean Developer>(Pick problem color)>Yes.
Hope it helps

It's probably a contamination problem but it could be mechanical.
Try this page: http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dsn/en/tree?c=us&journalid=6562681BAEE21456E040AE0AB6E1608F&l=en&s=gen&treeid=320898&Query=&SystemID=&ServiceTag=&contenttype=&os=&component=&lang=&doclang=&toggle=&dl=
Start by checking if the panel shows an error message (or not), then click Next.

I have to ask this question of you, just to make sure this is not an issue. Are you using a factory new ink cartridge?
Please consider the following:
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead.
If you are using factory new cartridges, then please call the manufacturers Technical Support for assistance with the warranty on the cartridges
