Question about Frigidaire PLMB209DC Microwave Oven

Open Question

The buttons on my Frigidaire PRofessional Series, PLMB209DCC, stainless steel microwave are not working. Is it a problem with

I have had the microwave since late 2005 but haven't really used it that much. Only one person uses it and not very often. It started doing this about year ago and at first, i could push and push and finally button would work, but now buttons are not working at all. It keeps saying, "Press clear and press clock. Enjoy your oven." I would love to enjoy it, if only i could.

SOURCE: Microwave Buttons Not Working

The cycling of your electricity probably didn't hurt it.

Chances are moisture or grease has gotten into the controls. That can ruin the keypad.

The way to prevent that is to be sure you have the microwave's hood vent exhaust fan running whenever you are cooking on the stove top.

If you (or someone you know) might want to replace the keypad yourself, I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.

If you would like to have us do this for you, we do that for $39.95 plus part costs.

Please feel free to contact me directly if you need more help.

F30 Open probe connection.

Check resistance at room temperature & compare to RTD Sensor resistance chart. If resistance does not match the RTD chart replace RTD Sensor Probe. Check Sensor wiring harness between EOC & Sensor Probe connector.

Check resistance at room temperature, if less than 500 ohms, replace RTD Sensor Probe. Check for shorted Sensor Probe harness between EOC & Probe connector.

Fridgidaire microwave won't shut off

Good Morning friend, thank you for your post!

I see that you are having difficulties with your Frigidaire microwave not shutting off. This could be a possible issue with your control panel or door switch. I would recommend performing a reset on your microwave and that can help clear out any potential miscommunications. To perform a reset you can flip the household circuit breaker off for roughly ten minutes. If that does not help resolve your issue you may need to seek assistance from a professional technician for proper diagnosis and repair. Hope this is helpful. -Matt

After I replaced the lower coil in my Frigidaire oven, the self cleaning part does not work.

Hi Carol Eggers, thank you for your inquiry!

I understand that your wall oven is not allowing you to perform self-clean after you replaced your bake element. It sounds like it could be an issue within the control panel or sensor inside of your oven. I would recommend having a professional come out to properly diagnose your appliance. -Matt

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand your Frigidaire microwave model# FGBM185KFC, sparked and blew the circuit. Typically, this would not be a do it yourself repair, as you are working with your microwave, and there are no step by step repair instructions. I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They have been trained on your appliance and should be able to diagnose it and determine what is causing your appliance to spark and blow the circuit. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

This model does not list Stainless Steel as a feature. Stainless Steel is used in the interior (CAVITY) of a Microwave if it is a Combination Convection/Microwave Oven. The Convection Oven can reach temperatures of 400+ degreesF. This Temperature would MELT the paint off a painted interior.
Stainless Steel can be tested with a Magnet. It will not be attracted or "Stick" to Stainless.
Hope this answers your concerns!
Thanks!
