I am not positive but I believe the Duo-Fast CI series, plastic collated nails may work in your Hitachi. At least worth a try.

SOURCE: Max 890s coil nailer does not advance nails when operated.

Make sure you have at least 100 psi available and I would pretty much drown the sliders and other moving parts in something like Marvel Mystery Oil.

How do i set the depth on a nv45ab2 hitachi coil nailer

Your owner's manual is available at: http://www.hitachipowertools.com/PDF/All/NV45AB2_NV45AB2S_OM_NEW.pdf
The adjuster knob to set the depth the nail is driven to is on the same side of the gun you load the nail on, just at the bottom of the head and near where the head of the next nail to fire rests. Pull down on and turn the knob counter-clockwise to leave the nail higher in your work or clockwise to drive them in deeper. When you let go of the knob it will spring back up. With it up turn it until it locks into place, usually another 1/4 turn or less.

I have a craftsman roof nailer with plastic cover for nails broken where can i get one to fit

Best place for replacement parts is the address below.
Ez to order from and usually only takes 10 to 14 days to get the parts. Click on Hitachi logo then select coil nailers, then your model number. For local parts, look in the yellow page directory for fasteners. Fastener companies that sell nails and other supplies to contractors also have parts for Hitachi nailers. Check with several. Some will even repair the nailer for you if you buy nails from them.
Good luck.

My hitachi nv45ab2 roofing coil nailer misfires and only shoots every third nail

Hitachi coil roofing nailer will skip nails if the piston oring is worn, the feed spring is weak or lower bumper is cracked. Easy to check. Remove nails and air supply. With side door open point nose of gun up then down again. If the piston moves up and down in the cylinder, replace the piston oring. If piston does not move and is in the up position, check the feed spring for tension. With air supply removed and door open, slide feeder back and press on feeder from door side to check tension. It should spring back to position against rails. If is feels loose, replace spring and retainer pin if the pin is worn. If piston oring is good, and the feeder has good spring tension, suspect lower bumper and the plastic part below the bumper called the "sheet". Remove head and pull the cylinder to examine lower bumper. Parts are available at www.toolpartsdirect.com. Good luck with your repair

No nail or double nails

Usually due to bent driver, worn driver oring or lower bumper cracked, weak or broken feeder spring. Remove head being careful not to tear gasket. Pull the driver and check for bend in shaft or chipped end. If the end of the driver is chipped or rounded, grind tip flat (remove as little as possible ). Piston should hold position in the cylinder and drop down under its own weight. Examine lower bumper. If missing pieces, replace with new. Lube orings with silicone paste (sold at Lowes in plumbing department). Also check for correct nails. Should be 15 degree metal wire. There is an older hitachi nailer with a metal canister (nv50aa) that uses plastic strip nails. These nails are too close together to work properly in the #nv65 gun and will usually shoot two nails. Good luck

Hi, when I nail also it leak. when I make a shot, the gun nailer blow for the middle. but when I don't nail it does'nt feel any leak.

Your description makes it clear that it needs a head rebuild kit. You can order this from Hitachi, or send it in to local Hitachi center. Good machine, straightforward repair. If you are a little handy, you can do this repair yourself. remember to oil the gun frequently to make your repair last longest. Farmerbear at FixYa

Pieces of the coil are breaking off when firing my Hitachi NV65AH - what causes this?

If you are using wire coiled nails, this is a common issue and there really is noway to stop this, and is advisable to wear safety glasses when ever using a nail gun. I have had 1 of the wires come off a coil and literally pierce my cheek. If it would have hit me in the eye it would have done some serious damage.

Can i use any brand coil nailes in my nv 45ab2 coil nailer

Yes. Roofing nailers all use about the same size and spacing on coil nails. You will find that Harbor Freight is about 1/2 the price of Home Depot or Lowes for those nails.

It will double fire sinking second nail only half way. This happens every third or fourth shot. The nailer is a Hitachi NR 83A 3.25in. X .131

the pin pushing your nails is loose and the guides are warned .
try to change the guides and you will see that this problem will will be gone .
one last thing , make sure the coils are in good shape as it may create some feeding problems and push 2 nails at once
