While you're at it, check the bulb socket wires.

Your vehicle has two different fuse boxes. One is located under the hood, next to the battery. The other is under the driver's side of the dash, next to the parking brake lever. Here’s a link that shows the boxes: http://dodge.justanswer.com/view_image.aspx?rel='nofollow' href=%2fuploads%2fttiger79%2f2008-10-13_153813_1.gif I couldn’t paste the picture in here so you will have to use the link....good luck and let me know if this helps...

Yes..that fuse will be either under the dash, or inside the engine compartment..included with the light accessories panel..not called a brake light fuse, by the way..

well..when you get there, you may find that the fuse is fine..then you will need to check the contacts inside the bulb housing, to see if there is any corrosion..which can happen with an older vehicle..

Check the power at your brakelight switch on the foot pedal if you have power at the pedal you can put a link wire across the wires and your brakelights should come on,if they do you need a switch....

The connection is cut somewhere, possibly its not getting signal that the brakes are pressed. Fuses in the fuse box, check them all. if they are fine, and the bulb is fine, then you need to check and follow the wireing to find the fault.

Connectors in the socket might be at fault. Hold the bulb to one side and the other to verify.

My inside dashboard lights and back break light suddenly stopped working so cant drive it at night. Its a 99 honda prelude. I've tried changing the light bulbs and the fuse but still not working.

If the dash lights are on the same circuit as the park lights. Chances are if no dash lights... no park lights. Unless the dash light dimmer switch is on the low position. Check park light fuse. If no brake lights... which are on a different circuit and you are sure the bulbs are ok check brake light fuse. If fuse ok, unplug brake light switch at brake pedal and cross the terminals with a jumper. If brake lights work, the brake switch is faulty. If still no brake light operation suspect a wiring issue

See if there is a relay for the tail lights/brake lights. I would go ahead and install new bulbs. Make sure that you get the correct bulbs. Not many vehicles still use the old 1157's.

1193 plymouth voyager. Brake lighs don't work

Maybe a relay or fuse is bad or the wiring to it.

But you said that the third brake light works.

So the brake switch must be ok.
Turn signals would be the flasher or wiring to it.prev.gif next.gif
CIRCUIT PROTECTION Fuse Block Fig. 1: The fuse box is located under a cover at the lower left instrument panel — 1987 Voyager shown 85616099.jpg
The fuse block and relay bank is located on the driver's side under the lower instrument panel. The fuse block contains fuses for various circuits as well as circuit breakers, horn relay, ignition lamp thermal time delay, and the turn signal flasher. The hazard warning flasher is mounted into a bracket below the fuse block. The individual fuse and relay locations can be found in the wiring diagrams at the end of this section.
is bad.

Brakes lights are not working.

The first thing to check is the brake switch(es) that are on the brake pedal lever, and the circuit for the third brake light is seperate from the normal brake lights.

If the brake light switch(es) and wiring do check out alright then the problem will most likely be in the turn-signal switch, and the brake lights are ran through the turn-signal switch.

How do I change the brake bulbs on 99 Nissan Quest

The whole assembly will pop out with a screwdriver (carefully). Then the bulbs can be reached. Just push the whole thing back into the slots when you are done.

99 mercury mystide had rear running light broken

If the driver's side tail light is working, it's not a fuse. Use a test light to check for power at the bulb holder. One terminal will be for tail light, the other for brake/turn light. If the is constant power for tail light, replace bulb. If no power, trace wiring from bulb holder to driver's side junction. Probable broken wire between the two tail lights.

Check the fuses in the fuse box. Use the diagram on the back of the cover. also check to see if there is power to them by using a light bulb tester. That should determine if you have a short or a cut wire somewhere.
