Labtec wireless Keboard and/or mouse problem

Hours f frustartion tofday with almost new Labtec wireless keyboard bought here in Spian 3 weeks ago. Suddenly gone absolutely mad. opening unending calculator instances, only typing a b or a 'd or occasioanly an o and NO oter letters or numbers.
Ran virus check - no results. Just mad keyboard issue led me to unistall keyboard driverand reinstall twice but no effect - finally got OLd knackered keyboard to re-establish it self (intially PC wouldn't even pick up old KB being plugged in)
Driving me mad. Any ideas. (BTW the low battery light did not show, and I did try new batteries jusrt in case, no joy.)

it worked when i first installed it. all of a sudden, only the mouse worked. went to the crappy labtec webpage for support-what a joke-not even a phone number to call. then went to logitech website, found my incident, found a phone number, called tech support, had it working for a moment. later it stopped working again. i am now requesting a refund-either the keyboard, or the receiver is junk

I was having the same problem and who knows it may pop up again... But what worked for me was moving the transmitter. I think the transmitter is crappy and super sensitive to interference. After i moved it away from my monitor the problem went away. I have only had it this way for a few hours though so no guarantees. But so far so good.

Get some rechargable batteries. 10 days is quite good, I change mine about twice a week but the PC is in constant use!

Does the labtec wireless mouse turn itself off when not in use

Hi,
You should always safely shut down and turn off your computer before plugging or unplugging the mouse from the PS/2 mouse port. If you do not safely turn off your computer, you may damage the mouse port, the mouse, or both.

Your Labtec mouse should detect and function by simply connecting it to the computer´s PS/2 mouse port or USB port. If you have 3 Button Labtec Mouse (M/N: M-CAC64), your mouse will work in the PS/2 and serial port with the supplied adaptor. If you are using the 3 Button Labtec mouse, we recommend using the PS/2 port. To determine the model number of your device, turn it upside down and look at the label. Model numbers are indicated by "M/N:". This will help you determine what system ports your Labtec mouse can be connected to.

Thank you
