Question about Proview PL913S 19" Flat Panel LCD Monitor
I was given this monitor because they said it didn't work. It has power but I cannot get a screen to come up on it. I need to know what I have to do to fix this problem. It is in great shape and the lady didn't want to pay to fix the problem. Let me know what I have to do and to try to fix this problem. thank you.

For reference the monitor can be disassembled, take the back off and then remove the screws for the power supply, then rmove the screws for the inverter vga card then gently pull the vga card up away from the power board.
on the vga board you will find 6 capacitors all grouped together 470 mfd at 25 volts they will be blown. solder them out and be careful you solder in the capacitors that are new the correct way their is a negative and a positive side. the 120 mfd at 25 volts may also need to be replaced. reassemble and you should have a working monitor, I do!

Hi, I, too, was given one of these monitors. Using a flashlight shine it at an angle to the screen and see if you see a computer screen showing under the beam of the flashlight. If you see a picture then the backlight or its circuit is not working. Check to see that the 4 cables going to the LCD display are plugged in all of the way. There are plugs on each of the cables with 2 wires to each plug.

I managed to solve the same problem by replacing the six 470uf 25v capacitors. I have notice that the old ones has a bulging top.
